Air Canada for Business Sponsors MURAL Festival 2022
Air Canada for Business sponsored this year’s MURAL Festival in Montreal, which took place between June 9th and 19th. The annual event featured exhibits from international artists and musical performances from around the globe.
This year marked the festival’s tenth anniversary and our fifth year taking part in the event! As the festival’s main airline sponsor and the leading business travel program for start-ups across Canada, we provided flights for artists visiting from around the world.
MURAL Festival has been an active Air Canada for Business member for over five years benefitting from our program’s exclusive perks and privileges.
As part of our sponsorship, we collaborated with the festival to create artist profile videos highlighting the importance of business travel within the arts and worked with artist Danaé Brissonnet to create an exclusive mural.
Maria Qamar aka Hatecopy
Toronto > Montreal
Hailing from Toronto, artist Maria Qamar aka Hatecopy, rose to fame on Instagram for her illustrations depicting the reality of being South Asian in early 2000s North America. Her work is inspired by her own experiences moving to Canada from Karachi, Pakistan as a child and has been featured on The Mindy Project.
Qamar travelled with Air Canada from her home base in Toronto to the festival in Montreal.
Amsterdam > Montreal
Originally from Colorado but now based out of Amsterdam, Mando Marie uses a combination of stenciling, painting and mixed-media collage to create her hauntingly nostalgic works. She travels the globe for inspiration and uses twin and mirrored imagery throughout her work.
Marie travelled with Air Canada from Amsterdam to the festival in Montreal.
Air Canada for Business Sponsored Mural
We worked with local artist Danae Brissonnet who painted a beautiful, exclusive mural along a building on Saint-Laurent Boulevard during the festival. Brissonnet is an artist from Quebec who specializes in public murals, illustration and mask-making.
