Air Canada has updated its checked baggage policy for customers who purchase an Economy Basic, Standard or Flex fare on or after May 14, 2025, for travel between Canada or the U.S. and:

• Africa
• Asia/the South Pacific
• Europe
• the Middle East
• South America

For those customers, the checked baggage fees1 are as follows.

Economy Basic:

• 1^st bag: CA/US$90
• 2^nd bag: CA/US$120

Economy Standard and Flex:

• 1^st bag: free
• 2^nd bag: CA/US$120

Air Canada has updated its checked baggage policy for customers travelling on Economy Basic, Standard or Flex fares purchased on or after April 13, 2026, for travel:

• Within Canada
• To or from the U.S. (including Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands)
• To or from Mexico, the Caribbean or Central America

For those customers, the checked baggage fees¹ are as follows.

Economy Basic and Standard

• 1^st bag: CA/US$45
• 2^nd bag: CA/US$60

Economy Flex

• 1^st bag: Free
• 2^nd bag: CA/US$60
