September 2018

  • Air Canada named among 30 organisations across Canada for its exceptional commitment to gender equality in the workplace. The company received the Parity Certification at the Women in Governance Gala. Air Canada proudly employs 13,300 women who demonstrate everyday that any career is possible.
  • Air Canada affirmed as North America's only Four-Star, Full Service International Carrier by Skytrax. The rating is based on an assessment of more than 1,000 aspects of Air Canada's airport and onboard products and services and reinforces the company's strength in the North American aviation landscape. In their evaluation, Skytrax concluded that the new Air Canada Signature Suite at Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) can be considered among the best, if not the best in the world for Business Class pre-flight dining.

August 2018

  • Air Canada first airline in the world to be certified for CEIV Live Animals by the International Air Transport Association (IATA). CEIV Live Animals identifies companies that comply with IATA's Live Animals Regulations, operate to the highest standards in all countries they serve, and are proactive in how they review and implement changes to their internal standards.

July 2018

  • Air Canada was named Best Airline in North America at the 2018 Skytrax World Airline Awards presented during the Farnborough International Air Show in London, marking the seventh time in nine years that the airline won. The Skytrax World Airline Awards is the largest airline passenger satisfaction survey in the industry, voted on by more than 20 million travellers from over 105 countries around the world, and is the benchmark airline excellence.

June 2018

  • Air Canada's Montreal International Maple Leaf Lounge won 2018 Design Award in the "Hospitality" category at the Neocon Design show in Chicago.
  • Air Canada's uniforms were recognized by the Professional Clothing Awards for Best Design in Corporate Apparel for our new uniforms in London, England. The Professional Clothing Awards are the biggest recognition of their kind in Europe.
  • Air Canada won Favourite Airline - Traditional and Favourite Airline – Premium Cabin Service at the 2018 Baxter Travel Media Agents' Choice Awards in Toronto. As well, Air Canada Vacations received Favourite Tour Operator, Canada & U.S.A. More than 6,000 travel agents in Canada voted.

May 2018

  • The Greater Toronto Airport Authority (GTAA) awarded Air Canada the 2018 Best Sustainability Contribution Award at the Eye on Safety Awards. Air Canada's recent initiative to recycle waste from domestic flights arriving at our designated gates in Toronto was recognized. The Eye on Safety Recognition program acknowledges airport workers who've demonstrated a proactive culture of safety and security throughout the year.
  • Air Canada has been named one of the top five most attractive company brands to work for in Canada according to the Randstad Employer Brand Research (REBR) independent survey. REBR conducts its impartial survey of Canadians annually.

April 2018

  • Air Canada Cargo won the Platinum Air Cargo Excellence Award. This is our fourth Air Cargo Excellence Award, and the third in a row, in the category for airlines carrying up to 999,999 tonnes. The prize was announced on Twitter by Air Cargo World magazine. These awards are based on the Air Cargo Excellence Survey (done annually by Air Cargo World). Carriers are ranked by freight forwarders on customer service, performance and value.

March 2018

  • Air Canada named the 2018 Eco-Airline of the Year at the Air Transport World (ATW) 44th Annual Airline Industry Achievement Awards for being the first airline in the world to voluntarily join the World Bank's IMF Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition. ATW presents the Eco-Airline Award to an airline that practices and innovates in exceptional eco-operations.
  • Air Canada won two uniform industry awards for its uniform collection, Best Transportation – People and Best of the Best, at the North American Association of Uniform Manufacturers and Distributors' Image of the Year Awards. The awards are the industry's highest achievements in commercial apparel designs.

February 2018

  • Air Canada was named one of Canada's Best Diversity Employers for 2018 for the third year in a row by Mediacorp Canada. The company was recognized for its Diversity Committees, Women in Aviation speaker series and Women of Air Canada Maintenance (ACM) program. The award is based on Mediacorp's Canada's Top 100 Employers project, which also included Air Canada for the fifth consecutive year for 2018.
  • Air Canada won Best Corporate Sustainability Report, "Citizens of the World" in the Canadian Transport Sector by The Finance and Sustainability Initiative (FSI) for the second year in a row.
  • Air Canada named one of Montreal's Top Employers for fifth consecutive year in Mediacorp Canada Inc's survey. Air Canada was recognized for exceptional human resources programs and forward-thinking workplace policies.
