  • Air Canada was named winner in Airline Strategy Awards Finance Category by the established air transport industry news and analysis provider Flight Airline Business.  Air Canada’s financial rejuvenation de-risked the company by lowering costs, strengthening the balance sheet and restoring the airline’s pension plan, turning a solvency deficit into a $1.9 billion surplus - all of which have been reflected in recent 10-year-highs for Air Canada shares.

  • Air Canada was named one of the 50 Most Engaged Workplaces in North America for Second Consecutive Year by Achievers, an employee social recognition company. The top 50 companies were selected for their work in setting the benchmark for standards in employee engagement, including: communication, leadership, culture, rewards and recognition, professional and personal growth, accountability and performance, vision and values, and corporate social responsibility.
  • Air Canada awarded 2017 Baxter Travel Media Agents' Choice Awards for Best Airline Traditional Service and Best Airline Executive Service for the 8th year in a row, securing the top number of votes by Travel Agencies in all regions polled (Ontario, Quebec, Western Canada and Atlantic Canada). 
  • Air Canada was named Best Airline in North America by the 2017 Skytrax World Airline Awards presented during the International Paris Air Show, marking the sixth time in eight years Air Canada has been recognized as the continent’s number one carrier. The Skytrax World Airline Awards is the largest airline passenger satisfaction survey in the industry, voted on by more than 19 million travellers from over 105 countries around the world, and is the benchmark or the highest bar when it comes to airline excellence.

May 2017

  • Air Canada receives FIM Airline of Choice award from the International Federation of Musicians. The International Federation of Musicians (FIM) representing professional musicians and their trade unions in more than 60 countries, awarded the newly created FIM Airline of Choice award to Air Canada for designing and implementing a musician and instrument friendly policy offering discounts for a second seat to accommodate an instrument when necessary, and giving priority boarding to musicians and their instruments.
  • Air Canada has been named the second most attractive company brand to work for in Canada according to the Randstad Employer Brand Research (REBR) independent survey.  REBR conducts an annual impartial survey of Canadians to determine which brands they would most like to work for.

  • Air Canada Cargo received the Air Cargo Excellence Gold Award in the “up to 999,999 tonnes” air carrier category by Air Cargo World Magazine who conducts the annual Air Cargo Excellence Survey ranking airlines and airports based on several performance factors including customer service, value and performance during the previous 12 months. This is the third ACE award for Air Canada Cargo.

The 4-Star Airline rating is determined through the Skytrax Audit system, which analyses cabin product and customer service standards onboard Air Canada flights and also across the Air Canada airport experience.

  • Air Canada was awarded the 2015 Baxter Travel Media Agents' Choice Award forFavourite Scheduled Airline for the sixth year in a row. Air Canada Vacations secured second place in the following categories: Favourite Tour Operator, Favourite Travel Supplier Website and Responsible Travel Company.
  • Air Canada Cargo received the Outstanding Community Contribution award at the annual Eastern Region Forwarders Celebrating Associates Gala organized by the Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association. The award was based on Air Canada's community contributions through the Air Canada Foundation.

  • Air Canada's International Maple Leaf Lounge at London Heathrow's Terminal 2 won leading UK interior design magazine, International Yacht and Aviation's,First Class Lounge design award as selected by industry professionals, readers of the magazine, clients and customers commending design and inspiration.
  • Air Canada Cargo won the Humanitarian Excellence award at the annual Central Region Forwarders Celebrating Associates Gala organized by the Canadian International Freight Forwarders Association.   • Air Canada was named Canada’s Preferred Airline by frequent Canadian business travellers in an Ipsos Reid Study. Air Canada was the preferred airline of 83 per cent of Canadian frequent business travellers surveyed for 2014, an increase of 14 percentage points in Air Canada’s ratings in the national survey over the past six years.
  • Air Canada’s Instagram wins award at Content Marketing Awards. The Air Canada Instagram account was recently recognized with a bronze award at this year’s Content Marketing Awards in the Best Use of Instagram for Content Marketing category.
