Here to help when travel doesn’t go as planned

Whether your flight is delayed, you’ve missed a connection, or you need to make a change, we’re here to help.

Flight delays and cancellations

Delays

We'll keep you updated at the gate and send you alerts for any departure time changes of 15 minutes or more.

If your Air Canada flight is delayed by 3 hours or more, you’re entitled to be rebooked on another flight.

If a delay causes you to miss a connecting flight, we’ll keep you informed every step of the way and rebook you as soon as possible.

Cancellations

If your flight is cancelled, we’ll automatically rebook you on the next available flight, including flights with other airlines.

You’ll receive your updated itinerary via email and SMS. If the itinerary doesn’t meet your needs, you can retrieve your booking to search for and rebook alternative options.

Stay informed

To stay connected and informed make sure your contact info is up to date.

Baggage

Delayed or damaged baggage

If you’ve arrived at your final destination on an Air Canada flight without your checked bag, you can track its status from check-in to pick-up or delivery using the Air Canada mobile app or online.

You’ll receive updates about your checked items along the way and if your bag is delayed, you can arrange delivery with a few taps.

If your bag is damaged, report it as soon as possible at the Air Canada baggage service counter or online. Don’t discard your damaged bag until your claim is finalized.
