Military situation in the Middle East

Support for Canadians in the region

If you are a Canadian citizen or a Permanent Resident of Canada, you can sign up for the Registration of Canadians Abroad service to receive important information about the crisis, or contact the Government of Canada’s Emergency Watch and Response Centre, available around the clock for consular assistance.

Update: March 13, 2026

Due to the military situation in the Middle East, all flights to and from Dubai (DXB) and Tel Aviv (TLV) remain suspended. If you are in either of these regions, please do not head to the airport. Your safety is our top priority.

Flights are currently cancelled as follows:

  • Dubai: until April 30, 2026, inclusive
  • Tel Aviv: until May 2, 2026, inclusive

Update: March 6, 2026

Due to the military situation in the Middle East, all flights to and from Dubai (DXB) and Tel Aviv (TLV) remain suspended. If you are in either of these regions, please do not head to the airport. Your safety is our top priority.

Flights are currently cancelled as follows:

  • Dubai: until March 28, 2026, inclusive
  • Tel Aviv: until May 2, 2026, inclusive

Update: March 2, 2026

Due to the military situation in the Middle East, all flights to and from Dubai (DXB) and Tel Aviv (TLV) are currently suspended and restarting on March 23, 2026. If you are in either of these regions, please do not head to the airport. Your safety is our top priority.


If your flight is affected by the suspensions

You can retrieve your booking to change your flight free of charge. If your flight is cancelled, we will contact you directly with your options.

If you choose to cancel your flight, you will receive a full refund. 

If your flight is not affected but you want to change your travel plans

If your flight to, from or via the Middle East is currently not affected but you would prefer to change your travel plans, you can make voluntary changes to your itinerary if:

  • You purchased an Air Canada ticket no later than February 28, 2026, for travel to, from or through one of the following airports between now and March 15, 2026:
    • Abu Dhabi (AUH)
    • Amman (AMM)
    • Beirut (BEY)
    • Dammam (DMM)
    • Dubai (DXB)
    • Erbil (EBL)
    • Tel Aviv (TLV)

If you’re scheduled to travel during the affected period, you can retrieve your booking to change your flight, free of charge, to another date between now and March 31, 2026, subject to availability in the cabin you originally purchased. Outside of those dates, any fare difference will apply.
