A new Air Canada for Business is on the horizon
Air Canada for Business is evolving to provide you with updated benefits for business travellers in the coming months.
In preparation, starting October 3, 2023, we’ll be temporarily pausing new enrollments on our website and capping the current tier levels for all registered Air Canada for Business accounts. Rest assured, your current account tier level will remain unchanged and active during this transitional phase.
Air Canada cash back program update
Air Canada Cash Back Program - Effective July 1, 2024, the Air Canada Cash Back Program is no longer available for new enrollees into the Air Canada for Business program. All existing, enrolled cardmembers will continue to earn 1.5% cash back on the purchase of eligible Air Canada flights charged to the American Express® Aeroplan®* Corporate Card or the American Express® Aeroplan®* Corporate Reserve Card until December 31, 2024. What does this mean for you?
- Your tier qualification will include:
- The value from eligible flights taken and the value from Flight Passes purchased using your company PN number before October 3, 2023.
- You'll continue to enjoy applicable tier level discounts when making eligible Air Canada for Business flight bookings.
- Your current tier statuses will be frozen, meaning your current Business Tier status will be maintained.
- Effective Oct 3, 2023 , travel options such as Maple Leaf Lounge One-Time Guest Passes, Bistro vouchers, and Preferred Seat selection can be purchased at regular prices without additional discounts.
- Any remaining valid complimentary reward perks (Preferred Seats, Air Canada Bistro vouchers, Maple Leaf Lounge One-Time Guest Passes, Maple Leaf Club Canada memberships, and eUpgrade Credits) can be requested up to March 31, 2024, and must be used within the reward's standard validity period.
- There won't be any opportunities for tier upgrades or downgrades, and no qualifying revenue will be tracked. The reporting tool will also be discontinued.

Air Canada for Business Program 2023, -2024
As of October 3rd, 2023, all registered Air Canada for Business accounts will be frozen at their current Tier level. Likewise, no new enrollments will be accepted on the website.
If you would still like to enroll, please contact the Air Canada for Business support team at acforbusiness@aircanada.ca to complete an enrollment form.
New enrollments will be registered as Base Tier level accounts, with no tracking of spending towards a higher Tier level.
No complimentary or discounted rewards will be added to the Business account.

What will happen with my current business account?
Your current Business account will remain active at the Tier level you hold as of October 3, 2023, for as long as the platform is available.
What will happen with my Tier level rewards and discounts?
The Tier level you hold as of October 3, 2023, will remain active until the end of the current Air Canada for Business program.
Your applicable Tier level discounts will continue to apply solely to eligible flight bookings made via the Air Canada for Business platform and via an ac2u partner (Online Booking Tool).
Discounted and complimentary travel options will be discontinued (including and not limited to: Preferred Seats, Air Canada Bistro vouchers, Maple Leaf Lounge One-Times Guest passes, Memberships, and eUpgrade Credits).
How will Tier qualification work?
There will be no new Tier qualifications. This means that your account will be neither upgraded nor downgraded based on new bookings made or flown after October 3, 2023.
When will the new business program be active?
The new Business program will be communicated in 2024.
How do I enroll in the new Business program?
Once the new program is announced, both the enrollment and booking process will be communicated.

How do I enroll my business in the current Air Canada for Business Program?
Enrollments to the program on our website are currently discontinued. If you still wish to enroll, please send an email to the support team acforbusiness@aircanada.ca
Note as of Oct.3, 2023, no enrollment offers will be added to the new account, and any flights booked or flown under the program will not count towards a Tier level. New enrollments will have access to the dedicated support contact line, and to the Air Canada for Business online booking platform for as long as they are available.
Tier level rewards
How can I tell what Tier level my business account has attained?
Your Tier level will be displayed on all Admin pages, viewable by Program and Division Administrators.
In addition, the business account’s Program Administrator and Corporate officer receive a Tier level notification email as soon as a Tier level 1, 2 or 3 is reached. A copy is also sent to any managing Travel agency.
Does my business account have access to discounted travel options?
As of October 3, 2023, all discounted travel options will be discontinued (including and not limited to: Preferred Seats, Air Canada Bistro vouchers, and Maple Leaf Lounge One-Time Guest Passes).
Does my business account have access to complimentary rewards?
As of October 3, 2023, complimentary travel options will be discontinued.
If your business account has any remaining eligible complimentary rewards, these will need to be used prior to the reward’s expiry date, or March 31, 2024, whichever date comes first.
By when do the complimentary rewards need to be used?
Any active complimentary reward must be used prior to the reward expiry date or March 31, 2024, whichever date comes first.
How do I validate if rewards have been assigned to me?
To see if rewards have been assigned to you, simply log in to the Air Canada for Business platform, then:
- Click on “See your account” and select “my profile”
- Click on the “Rewards” tab
How do I claim my complimentary travel options?
Complimentary travel options will be returned as a selectable option on the Air Canada for Business booking platform during an eligible booking flow.
How does my business validate if a complimentary reward is assigned to a traveller?
The business account administrators have access to view all Tier level rewards and are authorized to assign them to a traveller.
The “Reward link”, from your Admin dropdown menu displays all reward assignments.
Who can book using a complimentary reward?
The account’s Program Administrator can select rewards when booking for themselves or any other registered traveller in the business account or assign the reward to a traveller.
Travellers with an assigned reward will have access to select the rewards in an eligible booking flow.
How does my business validate if it qualified for complimentary eUpgrade credits?
If your business reached a Tier level, the Program Administrator, Primary contact or managing travel agency will have received a Tier notification email withing the last 12-months.
eUpgrade credits are awarded based on the business’ Tier level attained and the credits must be claimed within 3 months of receiving the Tier level notification.
How does my business claim the awarded eUpgrade credits?
eUpgrade credits must be claimed within 3 months of receiving the Tier level notification.
The Program Administrator must send an email request to eupgraderequest@aircanada.ca with the following subject line: “eUpgrade request.”
- The email should contain:
- Your Company’s name and company ID (PN #)
- The name, Aeroplan number and email address of each member who has been designated to receive eUpgrade credits, as well as the number of credits to assign to each.
Note: All claims must be submitted by March 31, 2023. Only eligible requests will be processed. Credits will be deposited within 5-10 business days, and eUpgrade credits must be used within 1 year of deposit date.
If your business reached a Tier level, the Program Administrator, Primary contact or managing travel agency receive a Tier level notification email.
Complimentary and discounted Maple Leaf Lounge Club Canada memberships are awarded based on the business Tier level attained and the memberships must be claimed within 3 months of receiving the notification.
Maple Leaf Lounge Club Canada membership reward(s) must be claimed within 3 months of receiving the Tier level notification email.
The Program Administrator must send an email request to acforbusiness@aircanada.ca with the following subject line: “MLL Membership request.”- The email should contain:
- Your Company’s name and company ID (PN #)
- Requested offer (i.e., complimentary or discounted membership)
- Designated travellers name(s) to whom the complimentary and/or discounted offer should be applied
- Complete mailing address (including postal code)
Note: All memberships must be claimed by March 31, 2023. Only eligible requests will be processed.
Memberships will be mailed to the recipient; please allow 3-4 weeks for processing and mailing. Membership is valid for 1 year from the issue date.

The Program
What are the requirements for a company to join Air Canada for Business?
Any North American company can join the Air Canada for Business program, provided it does not have an Air Canada preferred carrier/corporate agreement.
What are the benefits of using Air Canada for Business?
Air Canada for Business is a program that rewards companies every time they book their business travel with Air Canada, Air Canada Express, our codeshare partners, and our select interline partners.
Here are some of the benefits of the program:

Is there a cost associated with the Air Canada for Business Program?
There is no cost associated with enrolling or using the Air Canada for Business program. The Program is designed to help your company better manage its business travel expenses.
Note: As of October 3, 2023, online enrollments will be discounted. Companies that wish to enroll can send an email to acforbusiness@aircanada.ca.
How will I know that my company has qualified for a Tier level?
When your company reaches a Tier level, the Program Administrator and Corporate Officer will receive an email notification with details of the Tier Benefits as well as any complimentary or discounted products and services.
Note: As of October 3, 2023, the company's current Tier level status will be frozen but will continue to be honored. You will not be able to qualify for a higher status, nor will you be downgraded.
How Many eUpgrade credits does our company get?
Once your account reaches a Tier level, eUpgrade credits will be automatically added to the account. The number of credits received depends on the Tier level the account reached.
Level 1: 10 Preferred Seat credits
Level 2: 20 Preferred Seat credits
Level 3: 30 Preferred Seat credits
Note: As of October 3, 2023, the company's current Tier level status will be frozen, but will continue to be honored. You will not be able to qualify for a higher status, nor will you be downgraded.
How do I claim the eUpgrade Credits that our company has earned?
The Program Administrator must send an email request to eupgraderequest@aircanada.ca with the following subject line: Company's name & (company ID) PN#
The email request must contain:
- The company's name and PN# (company ID)
- The name, Aeroplan number and email address of each member who has been designated to receive eUpgrade credits, as well as the number of credits to assign to each.

Does Air Canada for Business have a reporting tool?
The Air Canada for Business online tool offers a report-generating option which your Program Administrator can use to download a range of reports.

The rewards
How does the Tier level qualification work?
Tier level Qualifications. Account Travel spend will be tracked on a 12 month-rolling cycle granting customers instant qualification to the Tier level, and benefits as it is reached. As a Tier level is reached, it will be secured for a 12-month period. If a higher Tier level is reached, the account will be instantly upgraded to the higher level for a 12-month period. If the account’s travel spend drops within the 12-month period, the account maintains the Tier level until the expiry date. Account will be reassessed at end of the 12-month period for new qualifying status. Revenue calculation is calculated on a day-by-day basis.
Note: Qualifying travel spend will be accumulated up to and including October 3, 2023.
As of Oct 3, 2023, the Tier level attained will be frozen and applicable tier discounts can be applied to eligible flight bookings for as long as the Air Canada for Business booking platform is available.
What bookings qualify towards a Tier level (rewards level)?
Only revenue from flown bookings made via the Air Canada for Business booking tool or the dedicated Air Canada for Business contact center are eligible for revenue tracking towards a Tier level.
Note: As of October 3, 2023, you will not be able to qualify for a higher status, nor will you be downgraded.
The company's Tier level status on October 3, 2023, will be honored and applicable discounts can be applied towards eligible flight bookings.
Do seat fees or change fees count towards a Tier level (rewards level)?
Only the flight fare (before taxes) from a flown ticket purchased in the Air Canada for Business program is calculated toward a Tier level.
Note: As of October 3, 2023, you will not be able to qualify for a higher status, nor will you be downgraded.
The company's Tier level status on October 3, 2023, will be honored and applicable discounts can be applied towards eligible flight bookings.
Bookings made via an ac2u partner (Online Booking Tool) authorised to sell Air Canada for Business will count towards a Tier level.
Note: As of October 3, 2023, you will not be able to qualify for a higher status, nor will you be downgraded.
The company's Tier level status on October 3, 2023, will be honored and applicable discounts can be applied towards eligible flight bookings.
Do Flight Pass bookings count towards a Tier level?
Revenue is not added when a credit is booked, but rather when the Flight Pass is purchased in full or in quarterly installments. Therefore, it can positively impact the Tier level very quickly.
Note: As of October 3, 2023, you will not be able to qualify for a higher status, nor will you be downgraded. Only Flight Passes purchased and paid prior to Oct 3, 2023, will be tracked towards a Tier level.
Do I need to add a code to receive my discounts?
No. If your business account is eligible for a discount, it will be automatically applied to your booking.
When will my Tier discount be applied?
As soon as your account reaches a Tier level, you are instantly eligible for applicable Tier level discounts.
Note: As of October 3, 2023, the Tier level attained will be frozen and applicable tier discounts can be applied to eligible flight bookings for as long as the Air Canada for Business booking platform is available. You will not be able to qualify for a higher status, nor will you be downgraded.
How do I know that the fares are discounted?
Once your account reaches a Tier level, the discounts will automatically be applied. Each fare with a Tier discount will be identified with a yellow star.
Enrollment process
Who can enroll in the Air Canada for Business program?
The Program is open to businesses and not-for-profit organizations that are duly registered and doing business in Canada or the U.S. and who do not have an existing corporate agreement with Air Canada.

You need to be a registered company with:
- A Goods and Services Tax (GST) number for Canadian Companies -or-
- An Employer Identification Number (EIN) for U.S. companies
You will also need to add:
- Your company name and street address
- Basic information on the person who will be designated as your company's Program Administrator and Corporate Officer

Where is the Air Canada for Business account number and Tier level stored?
Your company's account number and Tier level is stored in the account details section. Only your Program Administrator and Corporate Officer can view this information.

How do I log in to the Air Canada for Business tool?
Once your company is enrolled, follow these steps to access the for Business online tool:
- Log in from the regular Air Canada website
- Click on the Sign in dropdown (found in the upper right-hand corner)
- Click on the Air Canada for Business link
- Enter your login credentials.
Do I need to download software to use the for Business online tool?
You do not need to download any software to use the Air Canada for Business online tool.
However, the tool is best viewed using Chrome or Firefox, or Microsoft Edge version 7 or higher.
How long after enrollment can I start booking with the online tool?
Upon enrollment, your company's Program Administrator will receive a welcome email with instructions on how to register Travellers (Users). Once Travellers have been registered, it is possible to start booking flights right away.
Can a booking made via the Air Canada for Business online tool be retrieved on aircanada.com?
Bookings made using the Air Canada for Business online tool can only be retrieved via the same tool.
- Air Canada codeshare partners (AC flights operated by other airlines)
- Lufthansa and Lufthansa Regional (operated by Air Dolomiti, Eurowings and Germanwings)
- Austrian Airlines (including Tyrolean Airways when marketed by Austrian Airlines)
- Brussels Airlines

Can I use a Promotion Code when booking a flight with the Air Canada for Business online tool?
You can use a Promotion Code when booking a flight with the Air Canada for Business online tool.
Simply enter the code in the appropriate box on the shopping page. Fares on the results page will reflect the promotional discount.
Are booking expenses from outside of the Air Canada for Business online tool tracked?
Only bookings made using the Air Canada for Business online tool are tracked for rewards based on the expense threshold your company achieves.

Flight Passes
Is it possible to purchase a Flight Pass using the Air Canada for Business online tool?
Flight Passes can be purchased exclusively on aircanada.com. To do so, go to the Flight Pass tab on the aircanada.com homepage, or paste the following address into your browser: aircanada.com/flightpasses.
To link your Flight Pass to your business account, add your Company ID (PN#) to the client identifier box.

Can I use the Air Canada for Business online tool to book a flight using Flight Pass credits?
Yes, you can use the Air Canada for Business online tool to book a flight using Flight Pass credits.
Your company's Flight Pass booking expenses are added to its Air Canada for Business account within 15 business days from the date of purchase.
