As previously introduced and landing on January 1, 2026, greater recognition with Air Canada Million Mile
The Air Canada Million Mile demonstrates our gratitude, to you, for flying with us. Fly more than a Million Miles with Air Canada and you'll be entitled to exclusive Aeroplan Elite Status benefits and recognition.
Qualification
Fly more than one million Lifetime Qualifying Miles (LQM) on eligible flights operated by Air Canada1 and you'll become part of this distinguished group.
The number of LQM accumulated will be calculated based on the originally purchased cabin2 and the distance travelled in miles on flights operated by Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge, and Air Canada Express3, as follows:
Economy Class (excluding Basic fare): 100% of the distance flown
Premium Economy:125% of the distance flown
Business Class: 150% of the distance flown
You will also accumulate LQM for each monthly installment made in payment of an Air Canada Unlimited Flight Pass.
Along your journey, each Million Mile level offers you special benefits, including:
One Million Miles:
Your Aeroplan Elite Status will never fall below Aeroplan 50K.
Two Million Miles:
Your Aeroplan Elite Status will never fall below Aeroplan 75K and one designated friend will be recognized with ongoing Aeroplan 50K Status4.
Three Million Miles:
Your Aeroplan Elite Status will never fall below Aeroplan Super Elite Status.
Four Million Miles and above:
You will continue to enjoy Aeroplan Super Elite Status, and your previously nominated designated friend will be recognized with ongoing Aeroplan 75K Status5.
Each year thereafter, Million Mile Members will also be awarded a set of additional perks
The following will be awarded annually and vary based on your Air Canada Million Mile Status on January 1st each year6:
One Million Miles
You’ll receive 2,500 Status Qualifying Credits (SQC).
Two Million Miles
You’ll receive 5,000 SQC and Aeroplan 35K Status for a friend7
Three Million Miles
You’ll receive 10,000 SQC and Aeroplan 50K Status for a friend7.
Four Million Miles
You’ll receive 20,000 SQC and Aeroplan 75K Status for a friend7.
Five Million Miles
You’ll receive 30,000 SQC and Aeroplan Super Elite Status for a friend7.
Travel with recognition
When you reach the prestigious Million Mile milestone, you’ll receive a welcome package including a membership card and special luggage tags emblazoned with our Million Mile logo – we hope you’ll display these tags with pride, so that you will be recognized for your incredible journey with Air Canada wherever you go.
In order to receive Million Mile status recognition and to receive the Million Mile benefits and status grants described above, you must be a member in good standing, meaning you are fully in compliance with the Aeroplan Elite Status Terms and Conditions and the Aeroplan Program Terms and Conditions. Air Canada reserves the right to modify, revoke, suspend or terminate the benefits of Air Canada Million Mile at any time and for any reason. All benefits and privileges related to Aeroplan Elite Status, including the benefits and privileges described above, remain subject to the Aeroplan Elite Status Terms and Conditions.
1Only miles accumulated after 1988 are eligible for consideration towards participation in the Air Canada Million Mile. Before 2026, the accumulation of LQM also included a bonus for purchasing Comfort (15% bonus) and Latitude (25% bonus) fares.
2In cases where travel occurs in a different cabin than originally purchased, LQM will be awarded based on the original ticketed cabin class and distance, as indicated on the e-ticket.
3Only eligible flights purchased with cash in Standard fare or higher and operated by Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge, or Air Canada Express will accumulate LQM (flights redeemed with Aeroplan points, including points + cash bookings, do not qualify for LQM). Basic fares are not eligible for LQM. Flights operated by any other airline (regardless of the ticketing carrier), partner or promotional activities, or any other non-flight earnings are not eligible for Air Canada Million Mile qualification or LQM.
4As a 2 Million Mile Member, you can nominate one person to never fall below Aeroplan 50K Status. Please note that nominations are final and that no changes can be accommodated.
5As part of your benefits as a 4 Million Mile Member, the status of the person you nominated to never fall below Aeroplan 50K Status will now never fall below Aeroplan 75K. This change in Status applies to the person you previously nominated at Two Million Miles, and no changes can be accommodated.
6Million Mile Members will receive these additional perks once annually based on the Million Mile status they hold on January 1st each year. The SQC and Status for a friend will be deposited by the end of February for all eligible Million Mile Members.
7The annual Status for a friend nomination must be completed by December 30th of the year in which the benefit was awarded. Once nominated, the recipient’s status will remain valid through the remainder of that benefit year. Please note that nominations are final and that no changes can be accommodated.
