Flights to or from India

Updated – April 17, 2019

Air Canada is temporarily suspending its round-trip flights between Toronto and Delhi from mid-June to mid-July, 2019.

Ongoing airspace restrictions in the area of Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) have necessitated longer routes and resulted in operational complexities (e.g. en route stops or weight restrictions affecting passengers and cargo) that make non-stop flights between Toronto and Delhi no longer operationally feasible.

If you currently have a reservation for an affected flight, rest assured that we will be reaching out to you to offer other travel options, including rebooking on alternate flights or a full refund. If you booked your flight via a travel agent, they will be contacting you directly to facilitate these options.

A reminder that Air Canada’s daily Vancouver-Delhi-Vancouver flights continue to operate non-stop as scheduled.

In addition, the following flights will also continue to operate until the temporary suspension begins in June:

  • From now until April 30th inclusively: Air Canada’s Delhi-Toronto flight AC43 will operate with a technical stop in Vancouver,
  • From May 1 until mid-June: AC43 from Delhi-Toronto will operate non-stop albeit with restrictions on weight, passenger loads and cargo.

We are very committed to the India market, and we remain in close contact with various international authorities. We plan to resume the Toronto-Delhi route as soon as it is operationally feasible to do so.
