Vice President, Alliances and Regulatory Affairs
Yves Dufresne was named Vice President Alliances and Regulatory Affairs in October 2012, with primary responsibility for Air Canada’s alliance relationships and partnerships with foreign carriers including the airline’s presence in the STAR Alliance, as well as international regulatory and aeropolitical matters.
Yves first became a member of Air Canada’s executive team in 2004 when he was appointed Vice President, International, Alliances and Regulatory Affairs, with oversight for sales and operations in international markets outside Canada and the US and airline alliance relationships.
He began working for Air Canada in 1985 in the Government and Industry Affairs Branch as International Affairs Manager. Prior to joining Air Canada, Yves practiced law in Montreal.
A native of Montreal, Yves graduated from Laval University (Québec City), where he received a Bachelor of Laws degree (LL.B.) in 1980, and obtained a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from McGill University in 1985 (completed at the Institute of Air and Space Law, Montréal).
