There are a number of social media accounts on various platforms impersonating Air Canada. These accounts pretend to be Air Canada and some purporting to be Air Canada will respond to customers. Always ensure you are only communicating with the official @AirCanada account on social media before sharing any personal information, including about your travel itinerary or any financial information.
Here’s how to determine if the social media account you are interacting with is an official Air Canada account.
Look carefully at the account handle:
- There are no spaces between “Air” and “Canada” except on LinkedIn
- Ensure it is exactly spelled as “AirCanada”, without additional letters, numbers or characters
- Look for the red Air Canada maple leaf logo on a black background.
Look for a verified account or checkmark:
- On X (formerly Twitter), there is a gold checkmark next to our name, confirming this is our official and verified business account
- On Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, there is a blue checkmark next to our name, confirming these are our official and verified business accounts
