Holiday travel tips

December 15, 2022

Airports are busier than normal over the holidays. Here are some time-saving travel tips to make your journey easier, smoother, and more efficient.

Before going to the airport

  • Check your travel details and verify that they’re correct. This includes the spelling of names on tickets, travel dates and contact information for yourself and those travelling with you.
  • Expedite your airport experience by checking in ahead of time online or via the Air Canada mobile app, where you can also review flight information and access your boarding pass, all in one convenient place.
  • Many airport websites also have information and services to ease your airport experience, including wait times for check-in and security.

Baggage

  • Before packing, double-check baggage allowances, including carry-on limits. Excess carry-on baggage can result in boarding and flight delays.
  • When packing, keep required medication, keys, and valuables (including money, electronics, and jewelry) in a carry-on bag.
  • Liquids, aerosols, or gels can’t exceed 100mL and must be packed in a resealable clear plastic bag no more than 1L in capacity.
  • When you pack your checked bag, consider adding your name and contact information to the exterior of your luggage and also inside a secure pocket in case your bag tag is lost in transit.
