Improvements to Aeroplan Elite Status benefits

We’re pleased to announce some exciting changes we’re making to Aeroplan and the Aeroplan Elite program. These improvements are specially designed to make your Elite member experience simpler, more rewarding, and easier to share with friends and loved ones. Most importantly, they are the result of feedback from this community—so here are the details:

The following new Status benefits are now available, effective immediately:

• Doubling your eUpgrade travel companion benefits
  You can now request eUpgrade credits for two travel companions on your reservation, up from one in previous years. The same applies to the day of travel, where you can now make a request with an Air Canada airport agent to use your credits for up to two additional companions, instead of just one.
• Making your Status Passes more flexible
  Your Status Passes may now be used for travel on any future confirmed booking, provided the pass is applied before its expiration date. It used to be that Status Passes could only be used if travel itself occurred on or before the pass’ expiration date, which is typically December 31.
• Introducing online reward changes
  Now you can make changes to most Aeroplan flight rewards directly on our website. Once you sign in and retrieve your booking details, look for the "Change flight" button. From there, you can shop for alternate flights, and make changes to dates, cities, airlines, and cabin of service. Since this feature is still in its initial phase, stay tuned as we make additional improvements based on your feedback.
• Unveiling new, beautiful airport lounges
  Brand new lounges are now open in San Francisco, at Billy Bishop Airport in Toronto, and at Newark Liberty International Airport. These locations feature local designs, upscale food and beverage offerings, and plenty of space to work and relax. In addition to expanded lounge seating in our Hub airports, we’re undertaking exciting projects to upgrade our network.
