The drive from Jasper to Banff offers one of the best drives in the world with an array of fall colours from every vantage point. For a birds-eye view, treat yourself to a gondola ride to the top of Sulphur Mountain, where you’ll glide up over yellow treetops and have a chance of spotting local wildlife.
Algonquin National Park, Ontario

Algonquin National Park is also a popular place to witness fall colours due to its proximity to Toronto. It is worth making the 3-hour drive there to catch the spectacular colours of the Sugar Maple and the Red Maple from mid-September to mid-October. Entire hills are covered in orange and red colours and are best observed at viewpoints, trails and views across water. “Golden Encore” comes in October when the yellow-orange colours are displayed by the poplar and birch trees.
The Laurentian Mountains, Quebec

In the fall, the Laurentian Mountains in Quebec are filled with trees that change to brilliant colours. Arguably termed North America’s greatest natural show, the Laurentian leaves offer a beautiful display of warm tones as the shorter days approach. Visit Mont Tremblant in late September to October, just in time for the Symphony of Colours.
The Cabot Trail, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia

The Cabot Trail has been recognized as one of the world’s most scenic drives on Nova Scotia’s Cape Breton Island. Witness a mix of sandy beaches, rugged headlands and lush valleys in the midst of orange, red and gold. The best time to plan a fall getaway to Cape Breton is in early October. Drive south to Halifax and you may be in town in time for the annual Oyster Festival.
