Aeroplan Points Earn Terms and Conditions

General

To be eligible to earn Aeroplan points, you must be an Aeroplan Member in good standing. If you are not an Aeroplan Member, you can enroll today. Membership is free. Only one Aeroplan Member may earn Aeroplan points on a single vehicle rental. Secondary drivers cannot request to earn Aeroplan points.

Aeroplan points can be earned on all qualifying rentals at participating Hertz, Dollar and Thrifty locations worldwide. A qualifying vehicle rental is defined as one vehicle rental per day, per city, for all consecutive days a vehicle is rented-whether or not you renew the rental during those consecutive days. Points may not be earned on free, corporate or certain travel industry rates and may only be earned in one frequent traveler program per rental.

Retroactive Aeroplan points credit can be requested up to 6 months after rental date by clicking the "Retroactive Credit Form" below.

Aeroplan Points Earn Calculations

For qualifying vehicle rentals commencing after May 6, 2026 (12:00 EST) Aeroplan Members are eligible to earn Aeroplan points for every $1 CAD spent* on Hertz® vehicle rentals:

  • Aeroplan Members: 2 points per every $1 spent
  • Aeroplan Elite 25K Members: 3 points per every $1 spent
  • Aeroplan Elite 35K Members: 3 points per every $1 spent
  • Aeroplan Elite 50K Members: 3 points per every $1 spent
  • Aeroplan Elite 75K members: 4 points per every $1 spent
  • Aeroplan Super Elite Members: 5 points per every $1 spent

For qualifying vehicle rentals commencing after May 6, 2026 (12:00 EST) ,Aeroplan Members are eligible to earn Aeroplan points for every $1 CAD spent* on Dollar® vehicle rentals:

  • Aeroplan Members: 2 points per every $1 spent

For qualifying vehicle rentals commencing after May 6, 2026(12:00 EST), Aeroplan Members are eligible to earn Aeroplan points for every $1 CAD spent* on Thrifty® vehicle rentals:

  • Aeroplan Members: 2 points per every $1 spent

*Spend is calculated based on actual time & mileage cost of a vehicle rental, plus amounts payable in connection with ancillaries, vehicle upgrades, fees or surcharges but does not include taxes (“Spend”). If the rental is paid for in a currency other than the Canadian Dollar (“CAD”), the Spend will be converted into CAD and the number of points will be calculated accordingly.

For qualifying vehicle rentals commencing after May 6, 2026 (12:00 EST), Aeroplan Members will receive 1 Status Qualifying Credit (SQC) for every 5 Aeroplan points earned on eligible Hertz, Dollar or Thrifty vehicle rentals.

Status Grant Terms and Conditions

1 Hertz Gold+™ President’s Circle® Status

Qualification:

Aeroplan members, who hold 75K or Super Elite Status in the Aeroplan EliteTM status program (“Aeroplan Elite Status Program”) or who are Cardholders of an Eligible Premium Co-Brand Card (as defined below), may qualify to enroll for President’s Circle status in the Hertz Gold+ program. Enrollment into President’s Circle status is required via the online form provided to eligible members on their Aeroplan dashboard, and the status grant will be in effect immediately but may take up to 7 business days after enrollment and acceptance by Hertz to appear on your Hertz Gold+ profile. Once awarded, the status will be valid for a period of 12 (twelve) months from the date of request. Thereafter a member would have to request status again for each successive 12-month period provided they have maintained eligibility at the time of application.

Benefits of President’s Circle status are determined by Hertz and may change from time to time.

Eligible Premium Co-Brand Cards:

Premium Co-Branded cards shall be considered one of the following: TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite Privilege* Card, CIBC Aeroplan® Visa Infinite Privilege* Card, American Express® Aeroplan Reserve Card, American Express® Aeroplan Business Reserve Card, American Express® Aeroplan Corporate Reserve Card and American Express® Air Canada Card

2 Hertz Five Star® Status

Qualification:

Aeroplan members, who hold 25K, 35K or 50K status in the Aeroplan Elite Status Program and/or an Aeroplan Core Credit Card may qualify to enroll for Hertz Five Star status in the Gold+ Program. Enrollment for Five Star status is required via the online form provided to eligible members on their Aeroplan dashboard, and such status grant will be in effect immediately but may take up to 7 business days after enrollment and acceptance by Hertz to appear in your Hertz Gold+ profile. Once awarded, the status will be valid for a period of 12 (twelve) months from the date of request. Thereafter a member would have to request status again for each successive 12-month period provided they have maintained eligibility at the time of application.

Benefits of Five Star status are determined by Hertz and may change from time to time.

Eligible Core Co-Brand Cards:

Core Co-Branded cards shall be considered one of the following: TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite* Card, TD® Aeroplan® Visa* Business Card, CIBC Aeroplan® Visa Infinite* Card, CIBC Aeroplan® Visa* Business Card, CIBC Aeroplan® Visa* Business Plus Card, American Express® Aeroplan®* Card, American Express® Aeroplan®* Corporate Card, and Chase Aeroplan® Card.

Data Sharing between Hertz and Aeroplan

By participating in the status grant program, you consent to Hertz and Aeroplan, each sharing and receiving your Hertz Gold+ and Aeroplan member data, including but not limited to account numbers and your Aeroplan member status, with and from Aeroplan and Hertz and their respective affiliates, and agents, including Air Canada. Such data will be used by Hertz and Aeroplan in connection with the status grant program and will be used individually by Hertz and Aeroplan in accordance with their respective privacy policies.

To enable this status grant program, you will be required to have or create a Hertz Gold+ account. The status grant program is open only to Aeroplan and Hertz Gold+ members in good standing.  Program is non-transferable and is not redeemable for cash.
