Incidents in Hong Kong

Update - August 14, 2019

Because of recent incidents in Hong Kong, we understand that you may want to make alternate travel arrangements. If you currently have a reservation, Air Canada has implemented a policy that makes it possible for you to make voluntary changes to your itinerary if:

  • You purchased an Air Canada ticket no later than August 11, 2019 for travel between August 12, 2019 and August 15, 2019.
  • Your itinerary includes a flight to, from or via Hong Kong Int. Airport (HKG).

If you are scheduled to travel during the affected period, you may contact Air Canada Reservations (1-888-247-2262) to change your flight free of charge, to another date between now and September 15, 2019, subject to availability in the cabin you originally purchased. Otherwise, any fare difference will apply.

If you purchased your ticket with Aeroplan., or Air Canada Vacations, please contact them directly.

Update - August 13, 2019

Due to the ongoing incidents in Hong Kong, customers may experience airport congestion and longer travel times at Hong Kong International Airport (HKG).

Air Canada encourages customers flying from Hong Kong International Airport to arrive at the airport at least 6 hours prior to their scheduled departure time to allow for extra time to check in and go through the security screening process before their flight.
