Flexible rebooking policy for connecting flights via Frankfurt and Munich

February 5, 2024

Due to industrial action called by Lufthansa Trade Union Verdi affecting ground staff, we expect major disruption to customers with connecting flights on our Star Alliance partner, Lufthansa. We understand that you may want to make alternate travel arrangements as a result. If you currently have a reservation, Air Canada has implemented a policy that makes it possible for you to make voluntary changes to your itinerary if:

  • You purchased an Air Canada ticket no later than February 4, 2024 for travel up to February 8, 2024.
  • Your itinerary includes a flight to, from or via Frankfurt International Airport (FRA) or Munich Airport (MUC).

If you are scheduled to travel during the affected period, you can retrieve your booking  to change your flight, free of charge, to another date between February 6 and February 8, 2024, subject to availability in the cabin you originally purchased. Otherwise, any fare difference will apply.

If you choose to cancel your flight, you will receive a full refund.

If you are travelling with another carrier for part of our journey, please check your flight status with the operating carrier or contact them directly.

If you purchased your ticket with Air Canada Vacations, please reach out to them directly.

And if you require assistance, you can contact us at 1-888-247-2262 (or 1 800 361-5373 if yours is an Aeroplan flight reward).
