FAQ - Fast, free Wi-Fi

Whether it's catching up on work emails or streaming their favourite show, we know our customers want reliable, high-quality Wi-Fi throughout their flight. Air Canada is committed to delivering on and exceeding these expectations, which is why we're upgrading our Wi-Fi service to offer fast, free connectivity across our entire fleet.

This announcement solidifies our position as a leader in connectivity among Canadian airlines. It elevates our existing offerings, which include free texting for Aeroplan Members on international flights and adds to recent innovations like real-time baggage tracking and investment in expanding and improving our global lounge offering. Gate to gate connectivity is now considered indispensable for travellers and when we’re done, we will have achieved the most comprehensive roll out of aircraft connectivity, at a pace unmatched by other airlines — in Canada and around the world.

Customers can find out if Wi-Fi is available on their next flight by entering their flight number or route in the Air Canada website. Note that we are only able to show Wi-Fi availability for the next five days, so customers should check back later if the information for their flight is not listed yet.

Once onboard, customers who are Aeroplan Members can simply connect to the in-flight Wi-Fi network to launch the Wi-Fi portal by visiting www.acwifi.com. Customers will be asked to enter their last name and assigned seat number and accept the terms and conditions. For further clarity and up-to-date information, customers can check Air Canada's website or their booking details before their flight.

To access free Wi-Fi, customers must enroll in Aeroplan ahead of their flight and add their Aeroplan member number at the time of check-in. All customers on board an Air Canada flight can use the Wi-Fi to access flight information to track and manage their booking, via the mobile app or at aircanada.com. Customers without an Aeroplan membership will be able to purchase Wi-Fi for their flight at a flat fee.

Our teams are working hard to make sure all our customers can enjoy our fast, free Wi-Fi service as soon as possible. Our plan is to expand the service upgrade to all customers on our international routes in 2026.
