Exciting Aeroplan Elite updates
Autumn is officially here, and for many of us it marks a return to routine and a chance to reflect on the summer that always seems to fly by.
Looking back, it was a busy summer for Aeroplan and Air Canada—with challenges along the way for our Aeroplan Elite® Status Members, our customers, and our employees. Through it all, your loyalty and support have meant more than ever, and for that we’re deeply grateful.
We remain committed to delivering a best-in-class Elite experience. Your feedback shapes the program, and your trust in us continues to inspire everything we do.
In this update, you’ll find information about new travel and partner benefits, plus exclusive offers—including discounts and opportunities to earn bonus points on upcoming destinations.
As always, thank you for your Loyalty.

Changes to the Complimentary Checked Bag benefit for Aeroplan 25K members
Effective January 1, 2026, the number of Complimentary Bags an Aeroplan 25K member can check when flying with Air Canada® will be dependent on the fare purchased when travelling in Economy.
As of that date, members will be eligible to check 1 bag for free on top of what is included as part of the fare purchased, up to a maximum of 2 Complimentary Checked Bags.
This benefit can be combined with the free first checked bag benefit included with an Aeroplan Premium or Core credit card±, allowing eligible Aeroplan 25K members to check up to 2 bags even when they're travelling on an Economy fare that doesn't include a complimentary checked bag.
For example:
- An Aeroplan 25K member travelling on a Flex fare from Vancouver to Montreal will be eligible to 2 Complimentary Checked Bags (a first one included in the fare, and a second one as a benefit of Aeroplan 25K Status)
- An Aeroplan 25K member who holds a Premium Aeroplan credit card travelling on a Standard fare from Toronto to Chicago will be eligible to 2 Complimentary Checked Bags (a first one included as a benefit of their Aeroplan credit card, and a second one as a benefit of their Aeroplan 25K Status)
- An Aeroplan 25K member who does not hold an Aeroplan credit card travelling on a Standard fare from Toronto to Chicago will be eligible to 1 Complimentary Checked Bag (as a benefit of their Aeroplan 25K Status)
Please note that for Latitude economy fares, the Elite Status Complimentary baggage benefit is not stackable. Members are entitled to a maximum of two 23kg checked bags when travelling on that fare. Learn more

Effective Feb. 1, 2026: New benefits with select partners for Aeroplan 25K and 35K Status Members
As part of Air Canada’s expanded partnerships with United Airlines and the Lufthansa Group, Aeroplan 25K and 35K Status Members will be eligible to check one additional bag* beyond of what is included in their Economy fare whenever they fly United Airlines and select Lufthansa Group carriers (including Lufthansa, Brussels Airlines, SWISS, and Austrian Airlines, Discover Airlines, Lufthansa City, and Air Dolomiti). This means members can check up to two bags free of charge. Learn more.
*This complimentary extra bag benefit does not apply to Light fares offered by Lufthansa Group carriers.
