| Cancelling a booking online |
 |
|
If you originally booked your flight on aircanada.com, you can now cancel your booking directly online.
- The entire booking must be cancelled. For partial cancellations, passengers will need to call Air Canada Reservations.
- Reservations made through the Call Centre or by another means will have to be cancelled via that same method.
- Aeroplan point redemption bookings should be cancelled by contacting Aeroplan directly.
- Flights may be cancelled right up to two hours before departure.
- Online refunds may only be processed if the entire fare is within any of these fare types:
- Within Canada & Canada to/from U.S. confirmed in Latitude and Executive Class only;
- Sun destinations confirmed in Latitude, Latitude Plus, and Executive Class only;
- Latitude Plus fare type confirmed within the U.K., France, Italy, Israel, Ireland, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, and the Netherlands only.
How to cancel on aircanada.com:
- Retrieve your booking online as usual by proceeding to the Manage my Bookings page and entering either your locator number, last name, and credit card number (used for retrieval purposes only).
- The option to cancel the booking is displayed only if all segments are eligible for cancellation. For example, if you opted for the "No Changes, No Cancellation" discount, the ticket is ineligible for online cancellation.
- If the fare is not refundable, the value of the ticket is banked for use as a future travel credit. Users retaining value for future travel must call Air Canada Reservations when booking the subsequent trip.
- If your fare is fully refundable, you will have the option of requesting a refund online, or you may choose to retain the credit for future travel.
- Some fares are non-refundable online, but refundable through the Call Centre, such as Executive First or Executive Flexible. If you are in doubt as to your ticket's refundable status, please contact Air Canada Reservations.
- If only a part of your travel is refundable, you have only the option of retaining the value for future travel credit. You may call Air Canada Reservations if you wish to receive a partial refund.
- Once the cancellation process is complete, a confirmation email is sent to the passenger.
Refundable fares
Depending on the fares you purchased, you may choose to have your flights refunded, or you may choose to retain the amount for future travel credit.

- On international flights, a penalty may be charged, depending
on the fares.

is sent.
- Items from customized flights, including À La Carte travel extras
are not refundable, such as Assigned Seat Selection, Maple Leaf
Lounge Access, and In Flight Café snack or meal vouchers.
- Some fares are non-refundable online, but refundable through the
Call Centre, such as Executive First or Executive Flexible. If you
