When and where to use the Self-Service Kiosk
When?
You may check in at a Self-Service Kiosk within the 12 hour period prior to departure, and:
All bags must be deposited at the Baggage Drop-Off Counter by the check-in deadlines listed above.
Please note, however, that checked baggage may only be deposited at the Baggage Drop-Off Counter within the four hour period prior to departure.

You may check in at a Self-Service Kiosk within the 12 hour period prior to departure, and:
- At least 30 minutes before departure for flights within Canada;
- At least 60 minutes before departure for flights between Canada and other countries (including the U.S.A.)
All bags must be deposited at the Baggage Drop-Off Counter by the check-in deadlines listed above.
Please note, however, that checked baggage may only be deposited at the Baggage Drop-Off Counter within the four hour period prior to departure.

How the Self-Service Kiosk works
Our Self-Service Kiosks are easy to use. Simply follow the instructions on the Kiosk touch screen to retrieve your itinerary and proceed with check-in and other Kiosk options.
Should you need help at any point, our Kiosk Assist Agents are available on site to answer all your questions.
You can retrieve your itinerary in one of three ways:

Once you've completed your Kiosk check-in, proceed to the Baggage Drop-off Counter to deposit your checked baggage. If you've no bags to check, you can go directly to the security checkpoint and then to your gate.
Should you need help at any point, our Kiosk Assist Agents are available on site to answer all your questions.
You can retrieve your itinerary in one of three ways:
- Enter your booking reference, Aeroplan or Star Alliance frequent flyer number
- Insert a magnetic-stripe Aeroplan, Star Alliance or credit card*
- Scan your Itinerary/Receipt or passport, your Electronic Boarding Pass or your Web Check-in boarding pass.

Once you've completed your Kiosk check-in, proceed to the Baggage Drop-off Counter to deposit your checked baggage. If you've no bags to check, you can go directly to the security checkpoint and then to your gate.
FAQs
You can check in at a Self-Service Kiosk if:
- You are booked on an Air Canada or Jazz flight* (flights with other airlines are not eligible);
- You have purchased a paper ticket or an electronic ticket through aircanada.com, Air Canada Reservations, or your travel agent.
- Your ticket was purchased with your credit card, a company card or by someone else's card;
- You are travelling with or without checked baggage**;
- You have one of the following identification cards: Aeroplan card, Star AllianceTM frequent flyer card, or major credit card***
- You have no identification card (you'll need to enter your booking reference, Aeroplan or Star Alliance frequent flyer number).
- You are travelling as part of a group.

Our Self-Service Kiosks are easy to use. But should you need help at any point, our Kiosk Assist Agents are available on site to answer all your questions.
Yes. The Self-Service Check-in kiosk will allow you to receive all of your required boarding passes, including those for any connecting flights. The Kiosk can give up to four boarding passes for connecting flights, as long as the flights are all part of the same reservation.
Yes. On the Kiosk's main page containing flight information and seat number, select the "Change Seats" button and follow the instructions via the seat map. Follow the same steps if you're already checked in and you decide to make a seat change at the airport.
The additional checked baggage charges collection service is offered at all Self-Service Check-in kiosks in North America and is available for credit card payment of certain additional checked baggage charges. A discount may apply on selected charges for passengers using the Self-Service kiosk. Charges not eligible for Kiosk payment will be collected by the agent at the Baggage Drop-off counter.
To pay additional checked baggage charges at a Self-Service Kiosk, simply go to the Baggage Selection screen and follow the instructions. You must complete your credit card payment before printing your baggage tags.

No. You can only verify that your special meal or wheelchair request is on your record by selecting the "Special Request" button. Special meals and wheelchairs must be requested in advance by contacting Air Canada Reservations. For detailed information, please visit the Customers with Special Needs page.
It is not possible to use the Self-service Check-in kiosk to check in children aged 8 to 11 years old who are travelling alone as Unaccompanied Minors because of the special procedures necessary to ensure their safety. However, young travellers (12 to 17 years old) for whom the Unaccompanied Minor service has not been requested can use the Self-Service Check-in kiosk.
Yes. Simply touch the button located below the text Frequent Flyer Number and you will be offered a choice of Star Alliance member airlines on which you can accumulate points. Once you have selected an airline, you will be asked to key in your Frequent Flyer number.
