July 2014

  • Air Canada was named Best Airline in North America for a fifth consecutive year in a worldwide survey of almost 19 million air travelers conducted by the independent research firm Skytrax for their 2014 World Airline Awards. The 2014 Awards included over 245 airlines worldwide.

January 2014

  • Air Canada was named Best Long Haul Airline (Americas) for 2014 by the respected airline safety and product reviewing website, AirlineRatings.com. The results are based on ratings of 450 airlines globally by hundreds of thousands of passengers.

December 2013

  • Air Canada was chosen Best Airline in North America by readers of U.S. travel magazine Global Traveler in their tenth annual GT Tested Reader Survey, for the ninth consecutive year.  
  • Air Canada was again named Best North American Airline for International Travel and Best North American Airline Inflight Experience in the 25th annual edition of U.S. Travel magazine Business Traveler’s Best in Business Travel Awards.
  • Air Canada was again voted Best North American Airline for International Travel and Best Flight Attendants in North America in U.S. magazine Premier Traveler’s Best of 2013 awards.

November 2013

  • Air Canada’s President and Chief Executive Officer Calin Rovinescu was named “CEO of the Year” by Report on Business, the Globe and Mail’s influential business magazine.
  • Air Canada named one of “Canada’s Safest Employers” by Canadian Occupational Safety Magazine in its 2013 annual awards. Canada's Safest Employers Awards recognize companies from across Canada for outstanding achievements in workplace health and safety.

October 2013

  • Air Canada chosen as one of “Canada’s Top 100 Employers” by Mediacorp in their 14th annual evaluation of Canadian employers. The national competition conducts a detailed review of companies’ operations and Human Resources practices and identifies the country's leading companies and organizations for attracting and retaining employees.

September 2013

  • Air Canada Cargo named “Carrier of the Year” at the Western CIFFA Region Forwarders Choice Awards 2013 in Vancouver; earlier in 2013 Air Canada Cargo also won the “Carrier of the Year” awards for the Eastern and Central regions, making it a cross-Canada sweep for Cargo for a second year in a row.
  • Air Canada was named “Canada’s Preferred Airline for Business Travel” by frequent business travellers in the 21st annual Ipsos Reid Canadian Business Travel Survey. Air Canada was preferred by 81 per cent of Canadian frequent business travellers surveyed for 2013, an improvement of 12 percentage points in Air Canada’s ratings in the national survey over the past five years.

August 2013

  • Air Canada, together with Airbus, was awarded the 2013 Eco-partnership Award from the leading monthly aeronautical publication Air Transport World (ATW) for the first ever North American “Perfect Flight” that took place in June 2012.

September 2013

  • Air Canada was named “Canada’s Preferred Airline for Business Travel” by frequent business travellers in the 21st annual Ipsos Reid Canadian Business Travel Survey. Air Canada was preferred by 81 per cent of Canadian frequent business travellers surveyed for 2013, an improvement of 12 percentage points in Air Canada’s ratings in the national survey over the past five years.

  • For a sixth consecutive year, Air Canada was awarded gold for “Best Flight Experience to Canada” in Executive Travel magazine’s 2013 Leading Edge Awards readers’ survey.
  • For a fourth consecutive year, Air Canada was awarded top honours for “Favourite Scheduled Airline” and “Favourite Tour Operator” at Baxter Travel Media’s Agents’ Choice Awards 13th annual readership survey of Canadian travel agents.

  • For the eighth consecutive year in their international survey of business travellers the readers of US travel magazine Global Traveler voted Air Canada as the “Best Airline in North America”.
  • Air Canada Jetz was named “Best Business Charter Airline Company – North America” for our Jetz service by Business Destinations Magazine in their fifth annual Business Travel Awards! Business Destinations is a leading business travel magazine.

  • Air Canada Cargo won the “Carrier of the Year” award at the Western CIFFA Region Forwarders Choice Awards, and earlier in 2012 also won the “Carrier of the Year” awards for the Eastern and Central regions, making it a cross-Canada sweep for Cargo.

  • Air Canada was named “Canada's Favourite Airline for Business Travel” in the annual Ipsos Reid Business Traveller Survey. Air Canada was preferred by 73 per cent of Canadian business travellers surveyed for 2011, the third consecutive year of improvement in Air Canada's ratings in the national survey.

  • The Canadian Society of Magazine Editors (CSME) awarded enRoute “Magazine of the Year”. The prestigious CSME awards are the only national awards judged by other editors.
