Kids' Horizons Program

What's New!

Free flights, lots of help and dreams come true. That's what Kids' Horizons is all about. Our program's primary focus is the enhancement of the quality of life of Canadian children and youth and their families. Through partnerships with organizations that offer effective and often-time cutting-edge programs, Kids' Horizons gives priority to:

  • Children and youth health
  • The fight against child poverty
  • Children wish granting

A major component of Kids’ Horizons is our Hospital Transportation Program. Through this initiative, Air Canada annually provides approximately 2700 flights to pediatric hospitals across Canada to help children reach medical treatment not available in their community. Amidst the turbulence of the past years, we have continued our long standing partnership with organizations that make a difference in children’s lives. We also support hundreds of local/grassroots charitable organizations and events.

Some of our main partners include:

Breakfast Clubs of Canada and Quebec Breakfast Club want to make sure that all children start their day at school on a full stomach. Breakfast Clubs of Canada provides support and funding to 2,200 school nutrition programs attended every day by 220,000 kids across the country. Quebec Breakfast Club serves nutritious breakfasts to 15,000 kids in 201 schools located in underprivileged areas of Quebec. Thanks to the work of both organisations, children have the chance to start their day with a nutritious meal served in a nourishing environment.

Dreams Take Flight, an admirable initiative of our employees. Air Canada is proud to support the eight (8) Dreams' teams across Canada. In collaboration with agencies and community groups across the country, DTF select the children who will partake in a day of Dreams. These children are primarily socially disadvantaged or have physical or mental disabilities. The children are flown to a Disney park for an all-expense-paid day of enchantment and entertainment. Employees donate their time, energy and talents to the cause, while Air Canada provides the aircraft and promotional assistance. Since its inception in 1989, over 10 000 children have visited Disney with Dreams Take Flight.
Children's Miracle Network Children's Miracle Network, an organization generating funds for research, education and prevention programs as well as specialized equipment. In association with its 13 children's member hospitals and foundations across Canada, CMN brings comfort and services to more than two million children each year. Air Canada supports CMN and its affiliated members in their fundraising efforts and helps bridge the gap between communities and medical expertise.
Starlight Children's Foundation Canada Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life of seriously ill children and their families. Working with hospitals across Canada, the Foundation provides an impressive menu of both in-hospital and outpatient programs and services. A leader in delivering fun activities and wish granting, Starlight's programs reach out to over 12,000 children each month.
Street Kids International Street Kids International, a charity based in Canada that aims to give street kids around the world the choices, skills, and opportunities to make a better life for themselves. SKI promotes a philosophy of empowering and supporting street children and youth that has positively influenced perceptions and programs internationally.
Hope Air, an organization that serves Canadians in financial need by coordinating free air transportation to recognized facilities for medical care not available in the patient's home community. Air Canada provides hundreds of free seats yearly to assist Hope Air with its work.
