When customers No-Show their flight and have not notified Air Canada or their Travel Agent, they forfeit the value of their ticket.
To prevent a No Show, the reservation must be cancelled at least one hour prior to departure or within 3 hours after the flight departure. This includes re-protected flights by AC or the travel agents following a Flight Disruption.
The policy applies to:
- 014 tickets (AC Group tickets are excluded)
- Itineraries that include AC marketed and operated flights, and AC* flights marketed and/operated by other airlines.
When a customer is a No Show:
- For most fare brands1, the No Show flight and all remaining AC or AC* flights are automatically cancelled.
- As per fare rules, all remaining AC and AC* coupons will be cancelled and marked revoked. A revoked status is the same as flown. Flight coupons have no more value, which means they are not available for future travel credit or AC Wallet.
If customers have checked-in, they must, in this order:
- Cancel their check-in. The cancel check-in option is shown in the check-in application
- Cancel or modify their reservation.
Tax behaviour when coupons are revoked
Non-refundable taxes, fees and charges are non-refundable.
Refundable taxes remain refundable. Request refund via Let Us Know, ‘Travel Agent requesting assistance’ and select ‘Unable to display ET’
Reminder from the Audit Team
As per the CRS Booking and Ticketing Policy, when a passenger is a No-Show on a flight booked in a CRS, without a valid ticket number, Air Canada reserves the right to issue a debit memo, per passenger and per segment of $50 CAD/USD plus applicable taxes. All CRS bookings must be ticketed per tariff rules, and if not required, immediately cancelled in your CRS, prior to departure.
