Exclusive to Aeroplan members, AC Wallet can be used to safely store flight credits from eligible unused 014 tickets values, and any associated charges (paid seats, AC Bistro, and Maple Leaf Lounge access).
The credit is equal to the value of the original unused eligible ticket, minus the change fee.
Change fee is waived in the case of involuntary cancellation.
AC Wallet can be requested via the Customer Contact Centres and My booking at:
- aircanada.com for Air Canada direct channels and GDS Edifact bookings
- aircanada.com/agents for bookings made on that channel
Please note that Air Canada has a responsibility to protect the personal data of Aeroplan members by taking strict measures to prevent unauthorized access to, or disclosure of this information. As such, Customer Contact Centres’ caller authentication process will validate if the caller is the Aeroplan member, a delegate, or someone authorized to use the account.

Form of Payment AC Wallet
Customers can use their credit from one AC Wallet account as a form of payment for tickets and ancillaries purchased at aircanada.com, via the AC mobile app and the Customer Contact Centres.
A ticket can be purchased with two forms of payment; an AC Wallet combined with a credit card,
an AC gift card or an Air Canada Travel Voucher.
Frequency Asked Questions
Instead of a credit to AC Wallet, can the ticket be kept as a Future Travel Credit?
The option of Future Travel Credit (FTC) remains for all eligible tickets. Retention/Open segments must be entered to prevent the PNR from purging. Review ticket validity to ensure FTC is used within validity.
For single passenger bookings, can the funds be credited to different Aeroplan member?
No, the passenger’s name must match the Aeroplan number, except if the form of payment was an AC Wallet belonging to another Aeroplan member.
For multi-passenger bookings, can each customer on a PNR credit the value of their tickets to their AC Wallet?
All eligible documents can be credited to any one of the passengers on PNR providing they are Aeroplan members, or amounts can be split among passengers if they each hold AC Wallet accounts, except if the form of payment of that ticket was an AC Wallet belonging to another Aeroplan member.
Do AC Wallet credits expire?
Each individual credit in an AC Wallet expires one year from the original ticket issue date.
Exceptions:
- Refundable taxes do not expire.
- Credits accrued due to a schedule change or a flight disruption do not expire in scenarios when refunds are permitted.
Must travel be completed before credits expire?
No. AC Wallet credits must be applied towards a new purchase before their expiration date, but travel can be completed later.
When AC Wallet has more than one credit, how can we identify which one to use?
When choosing AC Wallet as a payment option, Air Canada will always deduct/deplete the credit with the closest expiry date upon payment.
Is Time of Ticketing commission recalled when the value of a ticket is credited to an AC Wallet?
- Involuntary cancellation: applicable Time of Ticketing commission is not recalled.
- Voluntary cancellation: effective February 12, 2024, applicable Time of Ticketing is not recalled. When there are two forms of payment, AC Wallet and Credit Cards, the amount of commission on the portion of fare paid by the credit card will be recalled.
Consult AC Wallet and Terms & Conditions at Air Canada credit options for more information.
