The approved Personal Oxygen Concentrators (POCs) listed below are allowed, under certain conditions, on Air Canada and Air Canada Rouge, as well as on Air Canada Express flights operated by Jazz, Sky Regional and Exploits Valley Air.
You must always store your POC under the seat in front of you.
Please note that canned oxygen (also known as recreational or flavoured oxygen) is not accepted in checked or carry-on baggage.

* Due to limited stowage space, models marked by an asterisk cannot be accommodated in our Air Canada Signature Class cabin with Classic Pod or Executive Pod seating.
If you wish to travel with an approved Personal Oxygen Concentrator, you must
- Contact the Air Canada Medical Assistance Desk and provide at least 48 hours’ advance notice
- Obtain medical approval before travel.
Air Canada will also make a reasonable effort to accommodate any requests made within this time frame.
- POCs and their supplemental batteries are permitted in addition to your carry-on baggage allowance.
- The in-seat power outlets in our aircraft are not designed for use with medical devices, which require constant current. For this reason, you may not use the in-seat power supply to power your POC during the flight or to recharge its batteries.
- Battery packs (either single or double) must not exceed the maximum 160 watt-hour (Wh) rating permitted on board an aircraft.
- Extra batteries must be placed in carry-on baggage and must be packaged in a manner that protects them from short circuits and physical damage, e.g.:
- Exposed terminals can be taped over.
- Each individual battery can be in a protective pouch or separate plastic bag, or batteries can be in their original retail packaging.
- You are fully responsible for your POC and batteries and must carry enough battery power for 1.5 times your total travel time, per your personal oxygen requirements. The Medical Assistance Desk will assist you with battery calculation once medical approval for travel has been confirmed, and will take the following into consideration:
- Time in airports before and after your flight, and between connections
- Time in the air
- Unexpected delays
