WestJet labour disruption

The WestJet labour disruption may have an impact on air travel across the country. If you’re booked to travel with WestJet over the next few days, we’re here to help you understand your options and next steps.

Air Canada customers

  • If you’re booked to travel with Air Canada, your plans are not affected. You can head to the airport and catch your flight as usual.
  • If you’d like to stand by for an earlier flight, you can do that at no extra cost based on seat availability.
  • If you're not travelling in the next 48 hours and need assistance with an upcoming trip, please consider calling us back later so we can prioritize helping those with immediate travel dates.

WestJet customers

We’re working with WestJet to accommodate travellers on Air Canada flights wherever possible.

  • If you’ve not yet been rebooked by WestJet:
  • If WestJet has rebooked you on an Air Canada flight:
    • There will be dedicated check-in counters at the airport for WestJet customers who were rebooked on an Air Canada flight.
    • You can change your booking from the Trips tab on our homepage. You’ll find product information and self-service tools, including the option to select your seats and check in for your flight within 24 hours of travel.

If you’re unable to manage an existing Air Canada booking or purchase a new ticket online, please contact us for assistance. And if you booked your flight(s) with a travel agency or online travel website, please contact them directly for immediate assistance.
