ENVIRONMENT: Air Canada continues to enhance its recycling initiatives
The National Airlines Council of Canada (NACC), of which Air Canada is a lead member, in collaboration with Ottawa International Airport has launched a pilot project to collect and recycle materials picked up by carrier’s groomers.

Colour coded waste collection bins are provided at every single gate making it easier for groomers to deposit waste and recyclables.

The principle goals of this program will be:

  • optimize current recycling program
  • ensure compliance with regulatory requirements with respect to international waste
  • develop a template that can be applied to other airport locations in Canada

Refer to aircanada.com for other environmental initiatives.
