On-board service

For the well-being of all customers and employees, we will temporarily adjust our on-board service as a health and safety measure in response to COVID-19. The following will be gradually implemented:

Flights operating in Canada, or to/from the US, Caribbean and Central America

  • For all cabins, we will provide individual water bottles instead of our bar service offerings and pillows and blankets will no longer be available.
  • Complimentary headsets will be provided to customers on flights equipped with in-flight entertainment.
  • In Premium Economy and Economy Class, we will suspend food service including our Bistro offerings
    • In light of these changes, customers may wish to take this into consideration prior to arriving at the airport, as many concessions and restaurants at the airport may also be closed.
  • In our Business Class, we will provide a pre-packaged meal or snack on all flights longer than two hours. Unfortunately we will not be able to accommodate any special meal requests
  • For Air Canada Rouge, iPads will no longer be offered

Exception: On flights between Toronto-Pearson (YYZ) and Honolulu (HNL), a complimentary pre-packaged meal will be provided in all cabins.

Flights between Canada and Europe, Asia, Australia and South America

  • For all cabins, we will provide pre-packaged foods, while bar service will be limited to water only.
  • Pillows and blankets will no longer be available in Premium Economy and Economy Class; only blankets will be offered in Air Canada Signature Class.
    • For Air Canada Rouge, iPads will no longer be offered
  • Unfortunately we will not be able to accommodate any special meal requests

We recognize these service changes may impact your onboard experience and thank you for your understanding as we adapt to this evolving situation. Please check back here for further updates before travel.


Lounges

For the well-being of all our customers and employees, we have temporarily closed all lounges until further notice. This includes the following facilities:

  • All Maple Leaf Lounges
  • Air Canada Café at Toronto-Pearson (YYZ)
  • Air Canada Signature Suite at Toronto-Pearson (YYZ)
  • Air Canada Signature Suite at Vancouver International (YVR)
  • London-Heathrow Arrivals Lounge (LHR)

Please note that other partner lounges may also be closed. We invite you to check directly with the operating carrier.

We have also temporarily suspended the selling of new Maple Leaf Club memberships. Memberships purchased before April 6, 2020 will automatically be extended by six months.

Departure Gates Closing Time

To accommodate new preventive measures and safety procedures as part of the Air Canada CleanCare+ program, we are adjusting the closing time for all our boarding gates for domestic flights, flights to the U.S. and international flights. The new departure gate closing time has been changed to 30 minutes before departure (previously 15 minutes).


Terminal Relocation

Effective May 28, 2020, Air Canada flights into and out of Paris-Charles De Gaulle (CDG) will be temporarily relocating to Terminal 2E (from Terminal 2A).

Eligible customers will continue to have access to dedicated priority check-in counters, as well as priority security clearance.


Check-in Service

Our domestic check-in area at Vancouver International Airport (YVR) has temporarily moved to the same check-in area as international departures.

Check-in services, including Priority Services, remain the same.


Priority Services

Fast Track closures at London Heathrow (LHR):

  • Departures Fast Track will close from the end of operations on April 3
  • Connections Fast Track has closed

Connection Services

Some connection services, such as terminal shuttles, may be temporarily suspended. Please pay attention to airport signs in order to make your connection in a timely manner. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to any of the airport or Air Canada representatives who will be happy to assist you.


Air Canada Duty Free Boutique

The Air Canada Duty Free Boutique is suspended until further notice.


BMW Chauffeur Service

As of March 18th, our BMW Chauffeur Service will be temporarily suspended until further notice.
