Which routes CANNOT be booked online?
  • Any route within the United States that does not include a connecting flight to/from Canada (e.g. Boston to Miami). If your itinerary contains a flight segment between two U.S. cities, please call Air Canada Reservations and an agent will be glad to complete your booking. The U.S. segment will be booked with one of our Star Alliance partners.
  • Any route between two International cities that does not include a connecting flight to/from Canada (e.g. Rome to Paris). If your itinerary contains a flight segment between two International cities, please call Air Canada Reservations and an agent will be glad to complete your booking. The international segment will be booked with one of our Star Alliance partners.
  • A flight to/from a city not displayed in the city list (when you type the first three letters of the city, province, state or country). Please call Air Canada Reservations to see if they can book your trip with one of our Star Alliance partners.
  • For multi-city bookings:
    • Each individual flight segment you enter must contain a Canadian city as your origin and/or your destination.
    • You may not book the same segment twice.
    • You may not book travel between two U.S. cities unless your itinerary includes a stopover of 4 hours or more in a Canadian city.
    • You may not use a promotion code for a multi-city booking. Promotion codes can only be used for one-way or round-trip bookings.
Why can't I select a class of service (Economy or Business Class)?
For most of your searches, you do not need to specify if you want Economy or Business Class. All the cabin options, including Business Class, are displayed on the search results page that appears after you’ve entered your search criteria. This allows you to easily compare each option’s attributes and advantages.

How can I make sure I'm booking the right fare at the right price?
  • Look for special offers and promotions on the aircanada.com homepage.
  • Look for our ‘day's lowest fare' tabs and, whenever possible, select a travel date that offers the lowest rate.
  • Book early.
When and how often do airfare prices change?

Air Canada fare prices and their availability on aircanada.com are accessed through a live flight booking system.

Therefore, while you are viewing a particular price for a specific flight, it could be that another person is actually in the process of booking a seat of the same type for that same flight.

Dependent on seat availability at that point, and because airlines limit the number of seats on each plane that can be sold in any given fare bracket, this may have been the last seat at that price and, therefore, the fare you are subsequently offered may be higher than the fare you originally viewed.

What can I do if I still have questions?
  • Use the search feature located at the top right of any of our pages or click on the 'Information and Services' tab for more information.
  • Call Air Canada Reservations. One of our agents will be glad to answer your questions and assist you with your travel needs.
