Ground Handling - Canada
There are a variety of fees and charges for the various aspects of transport, including: ground handling services, customs, security screening, import/export charges, etc. The fees that apply depend on your shipping requirements

All freight originating from Canada must be deemed secure according to the guidelines set by Transport Canada and the TSA. All freight not deemed secure must be carrier screened, and fees will apply as described below. Details can be found at the Security Screening page.
From Canada to International (code OI-ZZ)
A security screening fee of CAD 0.17 per kilogram, subject to a minimum charge of CAD 20.00, will be assessed per shipment
for unsecured cargo, based on chargeable weight.
Between Canada and the US (code OI-ZZ)
A security screening fee of CAD / USD 0.17 per kilogram, subject to a minimum charge of CAD / USD 20.00, will be assessed
per shipment for unsecured cargo, based on chargeable weight.
Shipments from Canada to the United States MUST have originated from a Registered Shipper AND must be screened either by an Approved Participant or the carrier (in this case, Air Canada Cargo). If screening is performed by the carrier, a cost of CAD / USD 0.17 per kilogram, subject to a minimum charge of CAD / USD 20.00 will apply. Shipments where the shipper is NOT registered cannot be accepted for travel to the USA on passenger flights.
From Canada to Canada (code OI-ZZ)
A security screening fee of CAD 0.17 per kilogram, subject to a minimum charge of CAD 10.00, will be assessed per shipment
for unsecured cargo, based on chargeable weight.

*For shipments requiring special handling including perishables, live animals, live plants, newspaper, magazines or any type of goods which require special attention outside the general accepted norms of warehousing.
Export:
Storage charges will apply when the carrier is requested to withhold a shipment, or a piece thereof, beyond midnight of the day following the day of
receipt of the shipment or when the first piece is not accompanied by an air waybill or when all pieces are not received within 24 hours of receipt of the first piece.
Import:
For regular cargo, free storage for 48 hours calculated from 00:01 a.m. on the day following the day of arrival (Check-in). For Friday arrivals, the first Saturday and national legal holiday falling on a Monday shall be excluded in determining when free storage time expires.
The following holidays are excluded from storage fees when they fall on a Monday: New Year's Day, Easter Monday, Victoria Day, St. Jean Baptiste Day (Quebec only), Canada Day, Civic Holiday (excluding Quebec), Labour Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
For special handling cargo, free storage for 24 (twenty-four) hours calculated from 00:01 a.m. on the day following the day of arrival (Check-in).

Charges will be calculated on the chargeable weight applicable to each air waybill (master and house) and are minimum charges which may be increased if additional work or expense is involved.
Note: An additional £5.00 per certificate will be charged when a dangerous goods shipment exceeds three dangerous goods certificates.

AC Animals Rates, Charges & Fees
The following flat rates apply based on the size and dimensional weight of your pet’s kennel. The rates are based on standard kennel sizes, but kennels vary. If your kennel doesn’t match the dimensions exactly, rates will be according to the closest sizing. For any questions, please contact one of our AC Animals agents:

The overall rate for a shipment needs to be confirmed by an AC Animals agent. Please contact us at:
Terminal fees cover the processing of your animal either within the facility, or through Customs. Within Canada, that fee is $80.00 CAD per shipment, and in the US, it is $70.00 USD per shipment.
All animals shipped as cargo need to be security screened. The security screening fee in Canada is $0.17 CAD per kilogram and $0.15 USD in the US, with a minimum charge of $20.00. The fee is charged at the station your animal departs from and is based on the actual weight of your animal and its kennel.
Air Canada Cargo requires a comfort stop for cats and dogs under the following conditions:
Under these circumstances, the animal will be sent to a kennel or veterinarian service and fees will apply.
Other Fees
Depending on your shipping requirements and special handling needs, additional miscellaneous fees may apply. This includes potential fees for value-added services, optional add-ons and service enhancements.
