You choose air cargo for its speed and efficiency. Avoid delays by declaring the correct weight.
Did you know declaring inaccurate shipment weight causes customs delays? If the shipment weight indicated on the paper master air waybill doesn't match the actual weight of the shipment, customs authorities will hold it at destination until rectified.
While Air Canada Cargo weighs tendered shipments, we cannot legally adjust information on a paper MAWB. When there is a weight discrepancy, a new MAWB/HAWB must be requested.
You can avoid needless delays by making sure the weight of the shipment indicated on the master air waybill is correct.
WHAT ELSE CAN YOU DO?
When a shipment is tendered to Air Canada Cargo by e-AWB, weight discrepancies can be adjusted easily without the need for a new MAWB.
Not sure how to get started with e-AWB? Find out here on our website. We have all the tools you need to get started with the e-AWB today.
If you have any questions about completing your HAWB or MAWB, or engaging in e-AWB, please contact your local Air Canada Cargo representative.
