November 5, 2019 Updated: New Declaration Form for Lithium Batteries
On August 1, Air Canada Cargo announced that a new document, Lithium Batteries - Section II - Shipper's Transport Document, would be required for shipments that include Section II lithium batteries (see list below) effective November 1.
To help you comply with this requirement, we have postponed the date to January 2, 2020.
Additionally, new version of the form will be made available on November 15, 2019. Please make sure to update the form if you have saved the current version.
While the completed Lithium Batteries - Section II - Shipper's Transport Document will only be mandatory on January 2, we encourage you to complete it and submit it any time until then.
The form can be downloaded from the Tools and Forms section of the Air Canada Cargo website. It must be submitted, either electronically or physically, when tendering any shipment containing the lithium battery types listed below.

Lithium Ion batteries contained in equipment - UN3481 Section II PI 967
Lithium Metal batteries packed with equipment - UN3091 Section II PI 969
Lithium Metal batteries contained in equipment - UN3091 Section II PI 970
REMINDER: Lithium ion and lithium metal batteries, packaged by themselves (not contained or packed with equipment) are not permitted on passenger aircraft.
