To all our valued customers,
Recently, Air Canada released financial results for the second quarter, showing strong growth for Air Canada Cargo.
We are very pleased with these results and would like to thank you for your continued support. While global freight tonne kilometers are at a high and cargo traffic has grown worldwide, Air Canada Cargo is outpacing this market growth - we can attribute this not only to the airline's growth, but to the steady support of our customers.
Our customers are top of mind, always. In this period of growth, we are doing everything we can to continue providing the quality service you've come to expect from this team.
We recognize that further growth requires investment. We have an aggressive plan in place for human resources - on our front lines alone, we're looking to add over 150 employees in the short term. To keep the extra kilos moving quickly and efficiently through our facilities, we're also investing in equipment and infrastructure.
Our Toronto hub has been the subject of an exhaustive review, and is being looked at from every angle to ensure it can not only accommodate current and future growth, but allow us to adapt to a changing industry. Work will begin in 2018. Improvements to our hubs and stations, including London, Frankfurt, Chicago, Vancouver, and Montreal, are also planned.
Once again, we thank you for your support. We look forward to providing you with the service and solutions you need.
Vice-President, Air Canada Cargo
