At Air Canada Cargo, we pride ourselves on providing our customers with a reliable and robust service. To provide you with the best possible unit load device (ULD) service, we are improving how ULDs are monitored and made available.
As part of this effort, starting July 1st, 2017, the demurrage rules for ULDs as published per TACT (The Air Cargo Tariff and Rules) will be consistently applied. We invite you to review the rules:
"Air Canada Cargo will furnish, when available, an empty ULD to the shipper for loading, which must be tendered loaded to Air Canada Cargo at the airport where such ULD was furnished within 48 hours after receipt by the shipper. A loaded ULD received by the consignee for unloading, must be returned empty to Air Canada Cargo at the airport where such ULD was received within 48 hours after receipt by the consignee.
In the event the ULD(s) is/are not returned to the carrier, a charge of £15.00 shall be assessed for each 24-hour period or fraction thereof, in excess of 48 hours, computed as follows:
At the departure station, this period shall commence from midnight of the day of release. At the destination station, the period shall commence from midnight of the day following the day of arrival. In determining when free rental time expires, Saturdays, Sundays and legal holidays will be excluded.
While in possession, the shipper or consignee is wholly responsible for the unit.
The unit must be returned in the same condition as when it was received."
We are fully aware that some of our customers have specific ULD requirements and can, by prior agreement, make alternative arrangements.
