March 8, 2016 100% e-AWB in Canada: Fee Applies as of April 28
As someone who does business with Air Canada Cargo, we want to inform you that we are migrating to 100% e-AWB usage domestically by April 28.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR YOU?
Starting April 28, domestic shipments within Canada must be tendered with an electronic air waybill (e-AWB). A fee of $18 will be applied to non-e-AWB domestic shipments tendered in Canada.
WHAT CAN YOU DO?
If your company is not already set-up to generate electronic air waybills, there are two options to do so: the Air Canada Cargo e-Booking tool and Cargo Portal Services (CPS). If you have not already registered for either service, you can do so today:
The e-AWB is the first and most important step in shifting our industry towards e-freight and reducing our reliance on paper documentation.
If you have any questions about e-AWB or how you can transition to e-AWB for all domestic shipments within Canada, please visit our website or contact your local Air Canada Cargo representative.
