Toronto – YYZ – General Cargo Imports

To further accommodate renovations at our main building at Toronto Pearson International Airport, more changes affecting the retrieval of freight will go into effect on Tuesday, May 19:

  • Domestic shipments: all inbound domestic shipments of general cargo (AFR/PPR) will be retrieved at our second location, AC2.
  • International shipments:
    • International shipments of dangerous goods will revert to being retrieved at our main facility.
    • International shipments of general cargo will continue to be retrieved at AC2.
  • Specialty shipments (AC DGR, AC Cool Chain, AC Secure, AC Compassion or AC Animals) continue to be custom cleared and retrieved from our main facility.

Steps to follow when retrieving general cargo shipments:

  1. Pick up freight documents at our main facility at 2580 Britannia Rd. East
  2. If applicable, retrieve all any specially handled shipments at main facility.
  3. Head to AC2:
    Air Canada Cargo - AC2
2710 Britannia Rd. East Cargo 2
    Mississauga, ON, L4W 2P7
    Open 24 hours, 7 days a week

Shipments should be retrieved as quickly as possible during this time.

Please note that for the overall safety of our work environment, we ask all customers to wear protective face coverings when inside our facility. Please visit our website for a complete list of safety guidelines.

Tips for quicker retrievals

  • Have your waybill and documents ready when you arrive at AC2. This will expedite the retrieval process.
  • Do not block or hold doors while waiting for paperwork from AC1. Please proceed to AC2 when you have all documentation and have been advised to do so by counter staff.
  • Do not deconsolidate freight on the dock as it blocks a loading door from another customer.
  • Have the appropriately sized vehicle for your shipment.

Summit Partnership Program

For those who participate in our pre-pull program in Toronto, the program will continue with some modifications. Please note the following changes, which will be in effect for Summit partners until further notice.

  • Assigned doors will not be available at our main facility.
  • A pre-pull list must be submitted prior to your scheduled time slots to ensure your cargo is staged and ready for pick-up.
  • Preloading of empty trailers will be suspended. Drivers should remain with their trailers.
  • Domestic and international general cargo shipments are to be retrieved and, if applicable, customs cleared, at AC2 with a scheduled pick-up timeslot.
  • All specialty imports (AC DGR, AC Cool Chain, AC Secure, AC Compassion or AC Animals) are to be retrieved from our main facility with a scheduled pick-up timeslot.

A member of the Customer Service Team will reach out to you shortly to confirm your continued participation and to schedule a timeslot of pick-ups for a duration of the construction project.

UPDATE - Customs Information for Booking

Due to ongoing construction at our Toronto facility, The Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) has temporarily agreed to allow Air Canada Cargo to use one sublocator code for both installations.

The following information will be required when booking all international shipments that terminate in Toronto.

  • Port: 0497
  • Sublocation: 3074

We will continue to provide you with updates and news by email. If there are people in your organization that could benefit from this information, please forward this message to them. We encourage all our customers to sign up to receive email messages from us at www.aircanadacargo.com/news.

Please contact your local Air Canada Cargo representative if you have any questions.

We thank you for your cooperation and continued support.

Alerts

We have regrouped all of Air Canada Cargo's COVID-19 updates here for you to bookmark and stay up to date on all our initiatives to keep the global supply chain moving.

AC Animal Restrictions

Air Canada Cargo accepts bookings for live animals, except for cats and dogs (PLP).

For their care and safety, and due to flight schedule changes and cancellations, the restriction on cats and dogs will remain in place until further notice.

If you have any questions regarding a shipment, please contact your local customer service representative.

AC Compassion Restriction

In compliance with World Health Organization recommendations, Air Canada Cargo will only accept cremated human remains where the deceased person was confirmed to be infected with COVID-19.

If you have questions regarding the transport of a human remain, please contact your local customer service representative.

Wearing a Face Covering at Our Facilities

For your safety and that of our employees, effective immediately, Air Canada Cargo strongly recommends that our customers and their representatives (including truck drivers) wear face coverings when visiting our facilities. This additional safeguard follows Transport Canada's directive that travelers wear face coverings at Canadian airports and is consistent with recommendations from various health authorities, including the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC).

If you or one of your representatives visits one of our cargo facilities, we ask that you bring your own face covering, which may include a cloth mask, scarf, bandana, or similar item. Please see the Government of Canada website for examples of recommended non-medical coverings.

The encouraged use of face coverings compliments the existing precautions in place at our facilities. Air Canada Cargo employees practice social distancing, wear gloves as part of their normal PPE, and are also encouraged to wash their hands regularly and avoid touching their face. We ask that our visitors do the same, and that anyone with a cough or any flu-like symptoms make alternate arrangements rather than visit us in person.

Customer-facing areas at some Air Canada Cargo facilities have been modified and we ask that you follow the directions provided on signage and floor decals to encourage social distancing.

In many cases, local stations will implement additional measures tailored to their needs.

We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our workplace safe for everyone.
