NAME CORRECTION POLICY

This policy applies to unused 014 tickets to correct misspelled first and/or last names, or to match legal travel document, following a legal name change¹ due to marital status or gender change. Correction to middle name is not required.

For tickets with Air Canada² marketed and operated flights

GDS Edifact

1. Enter in your PNR OSI AC NCC + the correct name
2. Within 3 business days of departure, request a complimentary correction at namecorrectiondenom@aircanada.ca  
   Air Canada will email you the ticket once reissued.

Direct Channels³
Call the Customer Contact Centre anytime to request complimentary name correction. An agent will reissue the ticket.

For tickets with other airlines flights 

Marketed by AC and operated by other airlines; marketed by other airlines and operated by Air Canada; and marketed and operated by other airlines.

GDS Edifact

1. Make a new booking with the correct name, subject to availability and applicable fare.
2. Retrieve the original PNR, cancel the space and enter in the Refund Waiver Code field of the GDS, the refund waiver code NCC + the last 10 digits of the new ticket which will be used to travel.
3. Process the refund.

Important
If the original ticket is refunded incorrectly, or without the refund waiver code, a Debit Memo of a minimum of $50.00 CA/US⁴ plus tax will be issued.

Direct Channels

1. Make a new booking with the correct name, subject to the applicable fare and issue the ticket.
2. Call the Customer Contact Centre; an agent will cancel the original booking and process the refund.
