Additional Taxes, Fees, and Charges

Transborder Travel (between U.S. and Canada)

The following applicable taxes, fees and charges are excluded*:
Airport Passenger Facility Charges of up to $18 US per person.

September 11th Security Fee of $2.50 US per US enplanement, up to $5 US one-way and $10 US round trip.

US Flight Segment Tax of $3.40 US per flight segment. A flight segment is defined as one takeoff and landing.

U.S. Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) fee of $5 US round trip.

U.S. Immigration User Fee of $7 US round trip.

For Hawaii and Alaska - U.S. government excise tax of $ 7.50 US.

For return travel, additional Canadian taxes, fees, and charges may apply: Airport Improvement Fees (AIFs) of up to $18 US** (AIFs vary by Canadian airports). Air Travellers Security Charge of up to $8 US for enplanement originating at a Canadian airport. Canadian Goods and Services Tax of up to $ 2US.

International Travel (between U.S. and Foreign Countries via Canada)

The following applicable taxes, fees and charges are excluded*:
September 11th Security Fee of $2.50 US per U.S. enplanement, up to $5 US one-way and $10 US round trip.

Airport Passenger Facility Charges (PFCs) and Airport Improvement Fees (AIFs) of up to $32 US round trip.

U.S. Immigration User Fee of $7 US round trip.

Various other government taxes and fees imposed by the U.S. and foreign governments (including U.S. Government Excise Tax and U.S. Customs Fee) of up to $130 US based on destination; total may vary slightly based upon currency exchange rate at time of purchase.

* Transborder and International taxes, fees and charges are subject to change at the discretion of each country's government and you may be required to pay additional taxes or fees not already collected.

** Two airports in Canada exceed $18 US: Bathurst (NB) $35 US and Sydney (NS) $22 US.
