Before completing your online profile you will be asked to create a password and to provide the answer to a challenge question that will be posed to you should you forget your password.  To ensure others do not have access to your personal data it is in your best interests to keep your password confidential and to ensure the answer to the challenge question is something known only to you.

If you use a computer shared by others it is important to sign off at the end of your session and close the window in your browser to ensure others do not gain access to your personal data.


Personal Data Required For Online Reservations

When you make your online reservation additional information will be required to complete your booking.  You will be asked for your email address to allow us to send an electronic confirmation of your reservation, to send any correspondence or a subscription to our e-magazines.  You will also be asked to provide information from your passport.  While you have the right to refuse to provide your personal information certain of your personal data must be provided or we will not be able to complete the contract of carriage.

You should understand that all airlines including Air Canada are required by security laws of an increasing number of countries, including Canada and the United States, to provide API (advance passenger information) to the authorized border control agencies of these countries. When traveling to Canada your API data is transferred to the Canada Border Services Agency. When you book your travel with www.aircanada.com you will be added to our email list used to contact you occasionally with offers that we feel will be of interest to you.  If you do not want Air Canada to contact you with offers you may withdraw your consent at any time simply by changing your profile information and opting out of any or all of the email offers you no longer wish to subscribe to by clicking on email offers. If you change your mind later you can simply opt back in. In addition, all emails sent to you by Air Canada contain simple instructions telling you how to "unsubscribe."

Document Retention

We keep a record of the flights you have taken, stored on a secure server located in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. These records are stored by flight number and date and are kept as long as necessary to satisfy legislative requirements. In addition to the historic flight information we may have a record of the contents and address of emails you send to our Privacy Office and our responses.


Access To Your Personal Data

If you wish to make a correction to your personal data stored online you may do so by simply clicking on "View/Update My Profile". If you have questions or concerns regarding your personal data you can send your query by email to privacy_vieprivee@aircanada.ca.
