POCs (Personal Oxygen Concentrators)

POCs are allowed on all flights under certain conditions.

The following POCs are allowed on Air Canada and Jazz flights:
  • AirSep LifeStyle (If equipped with sticker: "RTCA/DO-160" Section 21 Category M Compliant)
  • AirSep FreeStyle
  • Delphi RS-00400 (EVO Central Air)
  • Inogen One
  • Invacare XPO2
  • Respironics EverGo
  • SeQual Eclipse
Important:
  • Passengers wishing to travel with an approved POC must contact Air Canada Reservations 48 hours before their flight as they will require medical approval before flying. Air Canada will also make a reasonable effort to accommodate any requests made within this time frame.
  • POCs and their supplemental batteries are permitted in addition to the cabin baggage allowance.
  • It is forbidden to use the in-seat power supply to power the POC during flight or to recharge batteries. Passengers are fully responsible for their POC and batteries and must bring sufficient batteries for the duration of the flight. Extra batteries must be placed in carry-on baggage and must be packaged in a manner that protects them from short circuits and physical damage, e.g. exposed terminals can be taped over, each individual battery can be in a protective pouch or separate plastic bag, or batteries can be in their original retail packaging.
  • For itineraries between Canada and the United States, POCs must bear a label from the manufacturer to reflect that it has been tested to meet requirements for such devices set by the Canadian government.
