Welcome to the world of electronic ticketing,
the time-saving, 'ticketless' way to travel!
Electronic ticketing, also known as e-ticketing, allows your entire travel experience to be easy, safe and paper-free. It is as easy as asking for an e-ticket next time you book a flight with Air Canada or your travel agent. It is efficient as it makes it a snap for you to make changes and cancellations. Electronic tickets are paper-free, which means your ticket is stored in our computer system, waiting for you, when you arrive at the airport.

Here's how it works:
Electronic ticket destinations
Electronic ticketing is now available throughout Canada and most of our transborder and international destinations. Select your destination from the sub-menu below to discover if your next flight experience can be electronic.
For additional information regarding our destinations, contact your local travel agent or visit the Contact Us section for the address of your local Air Canada ticket office.
Day of travel
Ensure you have your itinerary/receipt, the credit card used to purchase the ticket and/or valid photo I.D. and all necessary travel documents. Name on the I.D. must match the name on the itinerary/receipt.
Domestic flights
Whether you have bags to check or not:
- Register by using the Express Check-in kiosks or the regular Air Canada Check-in counter to receive your boarding card;
- Check your bags at the Express Baggage Drop-off or at the regular Air Canada Check-in counter;
- Clear security and proceed directly to your boarding gate;
- You are ready to board;
or
- Use the itinerary/receipt to clear security and go straight to your boarding gate;
- Present your itinerary/receipt and credit card used to purchase the ticket and/or photo I.D. or Frequent Flyer card and receive your boarding card;
- You are ready to board.
Transborder and international flights
If you have bags to check or not!
- Register by using the Express Check-in kiosks or the regular Air Canada Check-in counter to receive your boarding card
- Check your bags at the Express Baggage Drop-off or at the regular Air Canada Check-in counter
- Proceed to customs and immigration with your itinerary/receipt and boarding card. If you are travelling to the United States, you must fill out and present the U.S. Immigration card to U.S. Customs officials
- Proceed to security and then to your boarding gate
Electronic ticket partners
Effective May 1, 2006 Interline prepaid tickets will no longer be sold.
Air Canada currently offers interline E-tickets with most of the other Star Alliance partners. Air Canada together with its Star partners, offers a global, seamless Star E-ticket product.
