Argentina to charge reciprocity fee

Argentina charges a reciprocity fee to citizens of Canada, the U.S. and Australia arriving at Ministro Pistarini de Ezeiza International Airport in Buenos Aires.

The fee applies as follows, as is valid for multiple entries:

  • Canadian citizens: $92 USD (valid for 10 years and up to 30 days prior to passport expiry date)
  • U.S. citizens: $160 USD (valid for 10 years)
  • Australian citizens: $100 USD (valid for one year)

The fee does not apply to those Canadian, Australian and U.S. citizens who:

  • are legal residents of Argentina
  • hold a passport with an Argentine consular visa
  • hold an official or diplomatic passport

You must pay the reciprocity fee online before your trip and print your receipt after the payment is processed. Upon arrival at the airport in Argentina, you will be required to present the printed receipt as proof of payment.

Air Canada recommends that travellers consult their local Argentina consular representatives before departure for entry requirements as they are subject to change.  Further details may be obtained from:
