Travelling from Montreal to the U.S.?
Then you’ll be glad to learn that Aéroports de Montréal (ADM) is actively preparing for the August 19 opening of Montréal–Trudeau airport’s new sector for departures to the United States.
The new “transborder” hall will occupy a new building adjacent to the western end of the main terminal building. Vehicles can access the transborder sector via an elevated ramp built as an extension of the existing drop-off lane for departing passengers. The building’s all-glass façade will feature five large entrances and the entire length of the drop-off zone will be protected by a canopy.
Inside, you’ll be greeted by spacious areas and a warm, welcoming design. The check-in counters and self-service kiosks – almost double the number available in the existing facilities – will be located very near the entrances to the new sector. This will make getting around easier, and you’ll no longer have to carry your checked baggage all the way to the U.S. customs station. And because the new sector is next to the existing transborder jetty, the walk to the boarding gates will be about 300 meters shorter: you’ll complete your departure formalities and head directly to the boarding area after passing through the duty-free shop.
