Annette Verschuren is the Chair and Chief Executive Officer of NRstor Inc., a new venture focused on commercializing energy storage technologies. From 1996 to 2011, Ms. Verschuren was the President of The Home Depot Canada where she oversaw the company’s growth from 19 to 180 Canadian stores and led its entry into China. Prior to joining The Home Depot, Ms. Verschuren was the President and co-owner of Michaels of Canada, a chain of arts and crafts stores. Previously, Ms. Verschuren was the Vice President, Corporate Development of Imasco Ltd. and the Executive Vice President of Canada Development Investment Corporation. Ms. Verschuren is a board member of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group and the North West Company. She serves as Chancellor of Cape Breton University and is a board member of numerous non-profit organizations including the CAMH Foundation, the Conference Board of Canada and Habitat for Humanity’s national leadership council. In 2011 Ms. Verschuren was made an Officer of the Order of Canada for her contributions to Canada’s retail industry and as a champion of corporate social responsibility.

Ms. Verschuren holds honorary doctorate degrees from Mount Saint Vincent University, Dalhousie University and St. Francis Xavier University where she also earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.
