Vice President, Human Resources
Arielle Meloul-Wechsler was appointed Vice President, Human Resources in September 2013 with leadership for all aspects of Human Resources including total rewards, pensions, development of people strategy, implementation of culture change initiatives, strategy for all aspects of talent acquisition, training and development for the airline, recognition, occupational health and wellness, disability management as well as linguistic services and diversity. In December 2015, Arielle also assumed overall leadership for liaising with the unions representing 85% of Air Canada's workforce. Prior to being appointed Vice President, she was Senior Director, Human Resources, a role held since July 2011.
Previously, Arielle was Assistant General Counsel and Director of Legal Services. While in the legal department, Arielle's practice groups included advising the airline on corporate financing transactions, reorganization or M&A transactions and business outsourcing arrangements, information technology, strategic purchasing and intellectual property. In 2005, she was seconded to Aeroplan where she led the external legal team through Aeroplan's initial public offering.
Prior to joining Air Canada in 1997, Arielle practiced at Davies, Ward, Phillips & Vineberg.
Arielle received her Civil Law degree from the Universite de Montreal and has been a member of the Quebec Bar since 1993. Arielle also holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from McGill University. She is on the Board of Directors of the Airline Personnel Directors Counsel and is a Member of the Conseil du Patronat.
