High-value shipments that require special attention
Air Canada Cargo is the carrier of choice for the movement of valuable cargo. AC Secure is for shipments with a known value of over $1000 CAD/USD (or equivalent in local currency at the country of origin) per kilogram or when a shipper purchases insurance in the same amount per kilogram, regardless of the commodity
The following commodities are considered valuable shipments, regardless of declared value or amount of insurance purchased:
- Gems
- Gold
- Silver
- Pearl
- Jewelry
- Watches
- Furs
- Artwork
- Narcotics and controlled drugs
- Firearms and weapons
Negotiable paper including:
- Money or currency notes
- Stocks and bonds
- Travelers cheques
Handling requirements vary by class and are associated with the value of the shipment being tendered
Specific tender and retrieval times
All shipments must have a confirmed booking and be ready for carriage prior to acceptance. Please contact your Air Canada Cargo office for booking details
