Ensuring perishables get off to a fresh start

When shipping temperature sensitive perishable goods, we help get your perishables off to a fresh start

Commodities accepted as AC Fresh are:
  • Frozen or fresh meat, fish, seafood, vegetables, fruits
  • Fish (edible) including shellfish and live lobsters
  • Fresh herbs and spices
  • Flowers and plants (For customers shipping flowers (box rate) from California, please contact your local sales office)
  • Dairy products
Important notes:

Newspapers, magazines and printed material must be shipped as AC Air Freight or AC Priority

Human blood must be shipped as AC Expedair or AC Priority
Live organs and vaccines must be shipped as AC Priority

If your commodity requires temperature maintenance and monitoring, it must be shipped as AC Cool

Different types of perishable goods have their own ideal temperature for transport and storage

Cool room facilities

Most Air Canada Cargo stations have cool room facilities. When making your reservation, the Cargo Agent will advise you if the destination airport is equipped, however, cool room facilities are not guaranteed. Shipments must be packaged with sufficient insulation and coolant to withstand up to 48 hours transit time, and varying weather and temperature changes.

Specific tender and retrieval times

All shipments must have a confirmed booking using Cargo Portal Service (CPS), GFX or by contacting your local Air Canada Cargo office, and be ready for carriage prior to acceptance.
