AC Absoluteº: Simplified Lease Pricing Starting Oct. 1

Air Canada Cargo is pleased to introduce a new, simplified container lease pricing model for its AC Absolute ° shipping solution, effective October 1, 2014.
The new model is the result of an extensive review based on valuable feedback from our customers. Many of the changes in the new structure reflect the comments we gathered from a survey we conducted with customers across our network.

So, what's changing?
As part of the new model, you'll find:

  • A single rate sheet combining both Envirotainer and CSafe container leasing rates
  • Bundled and simplfiied lease rates for fewer add-ons to remember
  • Easy-to read decision charts that make it easier to determine which fees apply, and when

The new pricing reflects increases that are partly due to higher costs from our vendors. In the coming months, we'll be making some changes to our AC Absolute ° process and  implementing some exciting value-added enhancements to our AC Absolute ° solution, which will be communicated as they come into effect.
Our objective remains to improve the customer experience for these highly specialized temperature-controlled shipments.

The new rate sheet is available on here.

After uploading your spreadsheet, CPS will email a status of each booking to the email address specified in your profile. You can manage each shipment at any time, as usual.

Handling Fee to Be Applied to Active Temperature Controlled Units Not Retrieved After 24 Hours

Air Canada Cargo would like to remind its customers that freight shipped in active temperature controlled units needs to be retrieved from our facilities in a timely manner.

To ensure the integrity of their contents, active temperature controlled units (such as Envirotainer or CSafe) require constant monitoring. When these units are in our possession, Air Canada Cargo employees verify the battery voltage, temperature and monitor dry ice levels every two hours, and apply corrective measures when required.

We regularly evaluate our pricing structure to ensure we continue to provide our customers with the best quality and customer service at competitive prices.

New Fee Effective June 17, 2013
As such, effective, Mon, June 17, 2013, a handling fee of US $50 per hour will be applicable on freight shipped in an active temperature-controlled unit that is still in an Air Canada Cargo facility (or a handler’s) 24 hours after flight arrival.

The fee will begin to be charged exactly 24 hours and one minute after arrival (ie, 12:01 on Sunday for a shipment that arrived Saturday at 12:00). The fee will be applied to the air waybill of the affected shipment by an Air Canada Cargo Agent at retrieval time. It will be rounded up or down to the closest half hour and the charges calculated accordingly.

Please note the following exceptions:
  • The charge is only applicable on freight stored at final destination stations.
  • The charge doesn’t apply to shipments with more than 24 hours of connection time.
  • The fee will not be applied to freight when the final destination is in South America, since here the consignee deals directly with the sufferance warehouse.
  • For shipments rebooked for reasons beyond the customer's control, the deadline for retrieving the shipment will be extended by 24 hours. However, the charge will apply after 24 hours for shipments that are rebooked by the customer.

We thank you for your cooperation.
